I believe there is a mammal (platypus?) that gives birth to eggs rather than live young
ooh, that's interesting! I assume they lay eggs, but still produce milk to feed their babies once hatched? that seems to be the other thing that defines an animal as a mammal!

I thought the definition of a mammal, was mammary glands?
yeah, it is - though there are a number of other defining factors.

it's only, that, as a kid, I was taught that the way to identify a mammal is that they give birth to live young, rather than. lay eggs - i guess that was slightly simplified as we were pretty young - and until today, I wasn't aware that there are a few exceptions to the live birth rule! 🤯

Today (well, recently) I learned why men are really asked the question, "What side to you dress on?" when being fitted for trousers. Not that I've ever given it much thought. Honest.

Today I learned there’s the most ridiculous thing as a Boo Box, filled with Halloween stuff, given to children in Halloween Eve …. WTF….. No wonder people are broke!

Don’t want to sound pedantic, but in Australia we learn that the platypus and wombat are marsupials, which are slightly different to a mammal!

as if Christmas eve boxes weren't bad enough when kids are getting a load of presents the next day, now we have "halloween eve" 🤦🏻‍♂️🤣

and if Boo boxes irritate you, wait til you hear about Burr baskets!

a box/basket/bag filled with a mix of pairs of fluffy socks, face masks, skin care products, sachets of hot chocolate, scented candles, chocolates etc - for kids, it's more plushies, pyjamas, squishies, sweets, and wasteful plastic tat which will end up dumped in landfill - given at the beginning of autumn - the "ber" months. 🙄

Women are constantly being distracted with consumerism while men burn the world down.

I forgot about marsupials even though I inwardly noted they were marsupials.

Are they still classified as a type of mammal? These days I mean?
