My friend was an influencer for a while. She got so much PR that she couldn’t keep it all, I got so much free stuff off her! I can’t deny I loved it 😅
I got sent some doggy jumpers once, when my Yorkie was a puppy. Oh and some doggy treats. Nothing for me though 😭

I had a slimming world account in 2016 wnd had about 15k followers. I was sent JD seasonings, Spicentice seasonings, are either of those still a thing? And some low calorie Jelly. If anyone remembers the hype of those in the sw "community" back then. Thankfully never asked to do the promo shots that Gemma Bosanko and crew did 😂😂.
I was always grateful and shocked anyone wanted to send me anything even if I hated jelly and the spices were a bit tit

It makes me laugh how some influencers pretend to like everything they have been gifted. Every cream is the one they use every day. Every lip balm is the one they take everywhere.

A few years ago I can was listening to the Unresolved podcast. The host shilled 3 different mattress brands over a few months ( I only realised as I was doing a binge listen to catch up), each time claiming to personally own the mattress as it was so good. Does he have 3 beds or just stack them like in The Princess and The Pea? Or maybe get a new mattress every 3-6 weeks?

Who can say?

Mr Electric works with a guy who's a bit of an influencer on the side. He started genuinely reviewing trainers and sportswear and is quite good at it bit now has branched out into all kinds of mass produced Chinese tit. While he's actually quite engaging I find it really hard to believe he would actually wear crappy cheap Chinese trainers and polyester tshirts when he's made a massive thing about being into designer trainers and clothing!

Reminds me of when my mum was a cleaner at one point. She worked for a lady who had a really bad shopping problem. She was actually a lovely woman but she got into crazy debt... however my mum did very well out of it because she'd do stuff like give almost full bottles of perfume away because she was bored of that scent, or throw a watch in the bin but when my mum would say all it needs is a new battery let my mum have it, etc!

Sad beggy videos from people moaning that no one bought anything off their stall at a craft fair to try and guilt trip the audience into buying from their online store.

The items are always lovely, but are a) to quirky for most people to want to own and b) priced way above what people are willing to impulse buy at a craft fair.

When people sell stuff on tiktok and others in the comments ask them questions like "is it comfortable", "is it good quality" well they're trying to sell it, obviously they're gonna say yes?? Best one I've seen was someone selling obviously fake coach shoes and a person asked "are they real" and the person responded "yes, totally real". I mean they weren't even lying I'm sure the shoes are real but they're not bloody coach shoes for 20 quid. The person asking was just like "omg thank you hun"

A girl I went to school with, rough as a badgers ass, has posted one but with no text. She suddenly had an expensive dress, hourglass figure, airbrushed skin and long hair. Clearly her Facebook friends don't know it's a trend because they're all commenting on how amazing she looks- and she's liking the comments or saying thanks. Delusional!!

I hate how FB has the like button on comments on the right hand side of the screen. Lost count of the number of times I've accidentally liked or even worse laughed at a comment on a serious post🤣
