I remember being taken to the cinema to see this at the time. I was absolutely terrified by the Bette Davis character but was too scared to leave as I thought she would come after meCould it have been the film Watcher in the Woods? Terrifying….

My brother had this fear too! Specifically the black cisterns. My granny had (still has) one of these toilets in her house and he would refuse to use the toilet whenever we visited. She also has an old yellow(!) outside toilet with the overhead cistern which looks like it belongs in a museumI’ve had a lifelong fear of overhead toilet cisterns, which nobody has ever understood, yet someone earlier in the thread shares my fear (black toilet seats on white toilets too, with a black cistern mounted high on the wall with a pull chain).
"I'm going to tell how it's going to be *guitar strumming*The skeleton on the scotch tape videos ad;
Electricity pylons;
Level crossings and train tracks (still don't like them);

I always found the moomins scaryNot me personally and not terrifying like some here but rather a cute one: I know somebody who was afraid of the Smurfs as a kid![]()
no idea why, but he got over it.
Memory unlocked lol! When my kid was small, he bleeping hated this lion, I think it's the eyes, didn't they roll around?

Moondial! I think it was called Moondial! A post about this kids’ TV programme from 1988 popped up on Facebook and the photos took me back. I’ll have to try to find a way to watch it to see if anyone did actually get buried alive in it or I imagined that bit…I also recall a TV programme (I want to say it was an episode of kids’ programme, Dramarama, but I could have completely made this up) about someone at an old house who ended up being buried alive in a tomb…
I possibly dreamt it but I also know how disturbing kids’ tv was in the 80s!
They're creepy as duck!I always found the moomins scary
Used to terrify me. My mum would go out to work in the evening and my dad would watch it and I'd be so upsetI remember the theme music from that TV show Strange but True used to give me the creeps as well
