Speaking of Batman… you know the logo? Well it was well until I was an adult until I actually realised the logo was a bat. I only saw the yellow part of the photo and thought that that was the logo, like a mouth with a few teeth, if you get me!?I was one of many brothers no sisters only girl. So one room was decorated batman. So dependent on which brother was less likely was to "kill" another room swaps happened.(being the only girl I get my own room) but once I got the batman room. I don't know why but the wallpaper terrified me. Plot twist my son was obsessed out of nowhere with batman

my dad took me to the park once and my mum had made a stew but she was talking on the phone and it burned and it really stank and she didn’t notice kept on talking. When we got back the burnt stew smelled disgusting and as we walked in Jonathan Ross big face was on the TV and I thought he had caused the stench so was scared of him ever after.

Speaking of fireworks does anyone remember the safety ads in the 90s? 2 girls walking and they see an apparently good looking guy, he turns around and half of his face had been blown off. I cannot understand anyone who is not a professional setting off fireworks jn their garden

Oh this thread is bringing back so many memories. I was terrified of fire as a kid due to all the fire safety lessons we had at school. Terrified of chip fires even though my mum never cooked chips at home. Fireworks, don't play with matches, it was endless. One time we had a firefighter visit our school and he asked me to demonstrate how I would break a window to escape a fire. When I inevitably got it wrong he said "you just died in the fire" and I had nightmares for ages afterwards.

Agreeing with so many of these 
I was terrified of the Millennium Bug, which indeed I thought was an actual insect-type bug. The news was full of how said bug could cause all systems worldwide to crash at 00:00 on 01/01/2000 and that life as we knew it would be in complete and utter meltdown. My family stocked up on canned goods from the supermarket as if we were facing an apocalypse. I couldn’t sleep and lost my appetite. Stayed up for the countdown to Big Ben’s bongs, hiding in fearful anticipation behind a cushion, and then… nothing happened
