I dislike bank holiday Mondays. Monday is generally my day off so to me it's just a house full of people who aren't usually here expecting to be entertained

I dislike bank holidays when I have to work, because people assume it's Sunday opening hours. So it's dead before ten, then dead again after 4, and it makes the day drag.
I also think a lot of people don't consider that for them to have an enjoyable bank holiday, someone else has to be working. Look what happened when the Queen died. People got excited about getting that extra day off, until they realised that shops, hospitality, and tourist attractions would also be closed. Suddenly the day off lost it's shine for a lot of people.

I remember opening New Year's Day and Boxing Day (no buses) and it was absolutely dead as a door nail. I think once we saw 5 people in 12 hours lol. They still made us continue to open. We were 24/7 opening and we had nights we never had a single customer at all,paying 2 staff to literally stand on the shop floor . They eventually stopped it after I left. Then several competitors opened up so they started doing it again. It's actually ridiculous how these companies are that greedy they can't shut for 1 day. I remember where I live,years ago it was half day Wednesdays everywhere and no Sunday's. Now it's just all classes as a normal working day,no double time etc.
I was shocked to learn (years ago now) what it wasn't double time anymore, absolutely ridiculous
7 years I've been at my current company, and we've closed Boxing day once, apparently as a thank you for all our hard during Covid...as if we don't all work hard anyway

Oh, and coincidentally, it was a year when Boxing Day fell on a Sunday, so the opening hours would have been reduced anyway.That really sucks, it's not as if Boxing Day sales are even a thing anymore. Flying! I’m absolutely terrified of it and don’t know how more people aren’t scared of flying high in the air in what feels like a metal coffin!

I'd love to go to Thailand,Japan,Alaska so many places but I just about manage a 4.5 and that's a push. I get so envious when I look around and people are just fast asleep,I have tried everything to just sleep through itFlying! I had 20 years of not flying due to my phobia and I can now tolerate short 2.5 hour flights. I’m still terrified though. There’s no chance I’d ever fall asleep on one
I get iffy with flying, I have to really stop myself thinking about what it actually is we are doing! I fly a lot to the US so it's anywhere from 5-9 hours depending on what coast and thank god it's in business class because I literally drug myself and fall asleep. Ruined Economy for my personal trips though haha!
We started a little tradition many years ago. Every bank holiday we stay home and it's the best thing we've ever implemented. We look forward to enjoying the mandatory rest and no one feels pressured to do anything, except maybe a bit of DIY or gardening! Family and friends expect nothing from us as know by now we don't leave the house unless one of them is on their last breath and we arent sat in bank holiday traffic. Wish I could apply it to at least one day a week for life
Great idea. We haven't done this but have wound up with a completely empty weekend after a family get together today was cancelled, so we've done gardening today and now have two free days. We plan on watching sport tomorrow and I'm going to tidy the kitchen cupboards on Monday and I can't wait! Honestly it's the best! Even since having kids weve stuck to it. Enjoy your cupboard cleaning and mandatory rest 
Pranks. Most of the time they’re just mean and at best they’re annoying.
When you’re sitting at a sushi bar and they make you share a soy sauce bottle/decanter with a stranger. And then you have to awkwardly reach into the stranger’s space to get it.
It just kind of grosses me out and it seems unnecessarily cheap of the restaurant.

Just not my kind of odd!I hate the flights say Manchester/Malaga - those planes are so small and every noise frightens me to death and worry about it for days before but I do find the A380's to Asia etc quite calming. They are so much bigger, the staff aren't rushed to shove the food at you and flog lottery tickets so making the journey comfortable. I can sit there not wondering if some head is going to kick off if they have had too much to drink but I can get a glass of wine now and again.
