A diagnosis isn't going to give him a free pass in school either but she's all smug thinking it can excuse all his behaviour 🤨
It does come across a bit like that. “We did it kid” is such a weird hashtag to use!

She does seem to like putting herself in the frame when the caption is unrelated. It's all a bit smug. She knows what she is doing doing design and could easily add some graphics in her style instead of constant pics of herself.

She didn’t share where they were or what they were there for really, so I think they must have finally paid for a private assessment/diagnosis for H. It’s all happened quickly after her saying it’s been “years” of fighting.

That’s right Jess, spend years telling everyone all about Hugo’s problems and asking for help and then when you get it sorted and are in a position to help others, pull the ladder up behind you and start claiming privacy!

Exactly! And by pulling back from it at this stage it feels like she’s stigmatising it even more? Odd.

Exactly! Rule number one of parenting an autistic child: don’t treat autism like it’s a dirty secret.

Honestly, I’m appalled that she thinks her approach is in any way correct or appropriate.

She has probably paid private to get the diagnoses that she wants as the school and other organisations that she has used in the past have all said its behavioral which of course she isn't happy with. I guess money talks.

I would like to think that private practioners are as robust and ethical as any other, and wouldn’t fake an autism diagnosis simply because the patient is paying £££.

I don’t want to criticise you or make you feel bad, but the world is full of bullshit when it comes to autism, and I don’t want to perpetuate this idea that it can be faked to get a naughty kid out of trouble at school, and middle class parents clamour to get their kids diagnosed to get their parenting off the hook. I hear it all the time and I hate it.

I am suspicious of the way Jess talks about autism. She’s acting like the diagnosis is a victory against the big bad school 🙄 If H has been diagnosed then I’m happy to accept that it’s real. It could be that he’s autistic AND a spoilt little tit thanks to a rather rocky upbringing (reading between the lines re. his absent father and now fairly absent stepfather) and his mum is a bit wet and far too permissive.

It was the fact that all the previous, state funded psychologists have said that it was behavioral. Time and time again. There certainly will be professionals that will charge a lot of money and give the diagnoses that the parents want. Thats just the way the world works. Money does talk unfortunately. If she has paid privately then there would be no way she was walking away without the diagnoses that she wanted.

I thought it was the schools who always said it was a behavioural issue? Wasn’t aware that he’d seen paeds or psychologists.

I had to go back on her stories for another look at Russ in his wetsuit before it disappeared
I often think if i lived near them I’d make a real effort to shag the partner just to wipe the smug smile off her face 🤪. Again, I ought to be ashamed....but I’m not 🙊

She's really one of those women that doesn't talk but just looks down at you at the school gates then shares her life on social media. You know the ones, all their social circle are members of their family.

Sometimes private diagnoses aren't trusted as much for this reason, if you pay enough surely you can get them to say anything you want. I've heard of some places refusing to accept private diagnoses before

To be honest, she's been criticised elsewhere on this thread for not paying for help privately when she clearly has the means to do so. It seems like she can't do right for doing wrong. 🤷‍♀️

I think it's her strange attitude about it all is bothering people like its some strange victory.
There are plenty of other assessments she could afford to pay for that can help while waiting on a diagnosis. Myself and many others were handed the diagnosis and sent on our way there was no support available. I then paid for a private OT assessment for sensory processing disorder and a private educational psychology report. I definitely couldn't afford these and actually borrowed off a family member but I was so desperate for my son to get help and he was just passed from waiting list to waiting list.... Her smug I'm better than you attitude has really wound me up. I initially followed as I was interested in her journey with a SEN child but I had my doubts not long into following

I never personally criticised her for that, I was happy that she didn't go down that route at this age after years of being told it was behavioral. It seems like that last meeting that she had with the school and specialists didn't tell her what she wanted to hear so she threw money at it. Probably for her ego as I have no idea why you would want to label a child if there was a huge chance that it was behavioral and could be remedied with parenting etc. She 100% has changed in the last few months, I genuinely have no idea why I follow her now. What is her USP now? She used to show interiors, talk about her nail business, cabin, moving furniture (niche I know ha) and just generally be more relatable. Now its insta beach days with her ££££ beach hut, campervan life, buying boring beige stuff and zero chat or reliability. Money ends up ruining these "influencers".
