If your persona is "wife guy" then the main thing you have to do is to not cheat on your wife see also John Mulaney.

Just like when I see a man describe themselves as a "male feminist", I know there are massive mysognist skeletons in their closets, when I see a guy take on the "wife guy" persona I know hes gonna be cheating fairly soon.

I know Ariel can make her own choices but this "consensual relationship" would be damn hard for me to get past.
And she has good connections with the Try Wives and it might be more difficult to work with them if they disagree with how Ned has been behaving.

It’s refreshing to see males talking about an emotional impact of a life event and how they navigated their way around it. Usually it’s rarely spoken about. Also one thing that struck me was when Zach said “the allegations against Ned”

This really grinds my gears - a white man is finally being held accountable for his actions (by other white men no less) - this should be commended not ridiculed. SNL is normally pretty ‘woke’, I bet they have dozens of sketches about how white men in power get away with all kinds of shit, so it is disappointing that they’re now belittling Ned being fired for gross misconduct.
SNL has had a long history of workplace harassment towards women so this is a whole other level of gross really.

Yeah the main takeaway from the podcast is that the boys clearly think Ned is malicious with his actions and was unwilling to do the right thing, which is crazy considering how close they all were not even a few months ago. Them thinking he copied the text without running anything past them like they did for him and that they think he copied it purposely to appear "aligned" with them shows their relationship is not salvagable regardless of it Ned did it accidentally or not.

I do actually think if he was genuinely apologetic and remorseful they may have been able to keep some sort of civil personal relationship, especially IF Ariel decides to continue their marriage. However, his behaviour showed them that he wasn't who they thought/he wasn't loyal to them or their company and therefore they cannot continue any form of personal relationship. Such a shame, feel like Ned is really going to regret this. Making such close adult friendships is so difficult I feel so sad he didn't value them enough and behaved this way.

Man, that video is really a PR masterclass! They used those weeks between labor weekend and when the scandal broke very wisely. The video shows their emotion in the best way possible (not too much not too little) which makes them not only even more relatable to fans but also to advertisement partners. They handled it all so well! I think their channel got really stale over the last year or so and regardless of how sad the current situation is, it'll give them a new start, more subscribers, and new ad deals in the long run.

apparently Ariel is pregnant with Ned 3.0, & Nedward has his job back at buzzfeed? No mention of Alex Herring who seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth. I wonder if she’s bound by an iron clad NDA 🤔

I found Ned a bit slimy and his attitude towards his wife (barely ever saying her name, always 'my wife' or 'Ned's wife, over the top simping etc.) kind of off putting. Seeing that he's made being a husband his entire online persona, it serves him right to lose this job and be shamed for it for humiliating Ariel online. Shitty guy.
i keep thinking about that one video where ariel mentions being slightly worried about their age difference (as she’s older than ned) and not being fun enough etc - and now he’s cheated on her with a younger woman.

i always found him slimy too and his complete disregard for her is awful. i still can’t believe how openly he and alex were going to concerts, making out in clubs, at restaurants etc together.

Does anyone else kinda wish they could've been a fly on the wall when they all confronted Ned?
What do you think went down in the room where it happened?
Pls someone make a video re-enacting what they think was said

I must admit when I read the headline "try guys cheating scandal" my immediate thought was it had to be Ned. Too sweet to he wholesome etc.
I like Keith and I like his relationship with Becky.
Eugene is phenomenally talented.
I quite like Zach but the continuation of his "single AF" persona after he'd moved in with his longterm partner didn't sit well with me tbh. Fair enough he didn't want to draw attention to a new relationship but could have toned down the series of videos about him being single!

I’m not sure, I’m not a graphic designer and looking and some other forums people think otherwise. I thought the same as you, though, that they were just screeenshotted notes.

Having said that, I think it speaks volumes that the boys assumption was that Ned was being sly or contrived with it. That’s clearly what they expect from him now.
Yeh exactly, I got the impression that they weren't surprised at him cheating as such but at it being with an employee which obviously becomes a whole different issue. Made me think he is probably just a massive sleaze

Is anyone else not fully convinced that the podcast episode won’t answer anything and just be a generic statement on how they’re dealing with things? Possibly something related to their opinions on workplace relationships at best?

The statement about the podcast doesn’t read to me like they’re dedicating a whole episode to it, just more as they need a short break to loosen up a bit after this so the podcast isn’t tense

It's a shame they finally got their "big break" on TV and now this has overshadowed it. Massive shame, imagine ruining your career, family life, and friendships for this.

And Alex as well?? She knew Ariel how devastating it must feel for everyone else these two going behind their partners backs under their noses. I also assume more of an affair than just kissinv in NYC, they looked a little too comfortable/cosy and to get that close in public...def been going on a while and not a one off.

Awful situation feel terrible for all of them. After all that hard work.

isn’t eugene also a child of divorce himself too? i could imagine this hitting him a more personal level too, and thinking about the children affected, so i fully get his level of anger, his voice was so flat like he was trying to keep his cool.

it is crazy that, in terms of how they talked about the backstory, that it was ned who pushed to start their own brand etc, and it is ned who has basically blown it all up.
I think you're right, yes - in the documentary, his Mum brings her second husband to the show, I think? I should know really, I've watched enough of their content! With Eugene, the feeling I always have had is that you have his trust and loyalty 100%.....until you do something to lose it, at which point you are pretty much dead to him. The Mr Darcy of YouTube, if you will.

It's so true regarding Ned pushing the brand and them setting up alone - the feeling I got from the documentary was not 'we wanted to go it alone and do it together', but more that they happened to be leaving Buzzfeed at around the same kind of time - then that Ned had this idea and enough of the business acumen to make it work. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, hey 😕

What I also think in terms of Ned is....what a fucking walking, talking cliché he became. The knob that believed his own hype, allowed 'power' to go to his head and shagged someone at work when he had a wife and young family at home. It just feels like the tale as old as time, I think everyone knows someone or heard of someone that's done it. Urgh.

Yeh, I agree, it is not only a betryal on a business level but also a friendship one, which makes it so much bigger. I actually liked the video for them clearly showing their emotions like this tbh, much better to see than the usual "we are still great friends and..." blabla bullshit that would usually be the case. Also does convince me that they didn;t have a real idea about it, as someone else said he was close to Ariel so i assume he wouldn;t have just ignored anything he knew. I also liked the appreciation they have for their staff and how this is all affecting them, I cannot begin to imagine the money they are losing now because of Ned being a total moron. I do wonder what he will end up doing? And also her, I doubt she would want to continue working somewhere where people probably hate her. I hope that Ariel continues to participate in the channel as the ultimate FU to ned
I've been wondering what Ariel will end up doing, too. She and Ned had borderline set up a husband/wife DIY/interior decor partnership (I think they even had one with Target?), obviously she was part of the Try Wives (oof), and she and Ned had a cookbook/date night series too. Everything is tied to him, their relationship and their marriage. Striking out alone won't be easy - and I can imagine Ariel not wanting to monetise their marriage recovery (if that's the route they go down) or the single Mum thing either 😕

I personally don't think Ariel knew.
I also feel like this is an affair situation, I mean C'mon out in public comfortable like that? Been happening a while. BUT the guys may have known he flirts or figured he was doing something dodgy and when they found out it was an employee lost their collective shit.
Also he posted this in August makes my heart break for Ariel.

So got some tea ☕
Ned & Ariel were seen together at the Taylor Swift concert, Instagram stories were loaded to Grace Fulmer (Ned’s sister) Instagram.
looks like she decided to stay with him then- I mean that’s her choice, she doesn’t need to justify her reasoning behind it to anyone, but am a tad annoyed that Ned got his cake & ate it too.
Someone on one of the /r/fauxmoi threads mentioned a month or two ago that they saw Ned with another woman on what looked like to be a date and he was wearing his wedding ring if I remember right. If true, nothing has changed but hopefully Ariel is aware of it
