it’s cloudy where I am but I’ve opened all my windows, it’s still cold but I needed some fresh air in my rooms, plus I’m the only one on the house this weekend so no one can close them if they’re cold

Has anyone bought any Easter eggs/decor yet?

I have bought four eggs (mini ones I might add!) and eaten two - husband had the other two Easter stuff is just too good! Also got some Cadbury’s creme egg chocolate today and it’s so nice!

Has anyone tried any new hot cross bun flavours? I’ve got some Tesco rhubarb and custard ones to try. Have tried the clotted cream and strawberry ones which were so nice and the blueberry and lemon ones which were a bit meh.

I love this thread, it makes me feel so happy!

Would anyone have any advice on how to start growing a rose bush in the garden? I’m thinking some kind of small trellis type thing () and then do I just plant the rose plants and encourage them to grow up the trellis or are there actual rose bushes I can buy and plant…? Complete novice here if you hadn’t guessed

I would really recommend buying a David Austin rose bush - I’ve got three or four and they are amazing, and seem to be much healthier than other rose plants I’ve bought. Some I’ve had for years They’re a bit more pricey but all the hard work is done for you as they’re established and will flower in abundance that same year. You can get specific climbing ones if that’s what you’re after.

The white chocolate one smells amazing also. And they had another little one that had messages on it for Mother’s Day it smelled like he smelled. Gonna get it for myself for Mother’s Day . Mother’s Day is also my birthday this year gutted.

I’m adding the candle to my list my birthday on Sunday too… why MD couldn’t be the following Sunday makes me peed off !

Going out for lunch with friends tomorrow. Do I go with short dress with tights, boots and leather jacket? Or maxi dress with trainers and denim jacket? Help! It’s that inbetween kind of weather where dressing is kinda tricky. I’m not really a big jeans fan, so would rather avoid those.

Windy and cold here but sunny, and some beautiful birdsong I love the springtime birdsong in the evening.

Me too!! Been hearing all sorts of birds today. It’s definitely spring. And my neighbours nice tree I can see out of my window has blossomed today. So pretty.

Saw some really cute bunny and lamb tat in tk maxx / home sense today. Could I justify spending ten pounds on a cute lamb ornament wearing a pink bonnet hat? Not today no but I will at the weekend!
They also had a bunny wearing a yellow raincoat and boots with an umbrella

I haaaaaaate hot weather (that 40c heatwave we had last year killed me off), but I live for spring. I'm pale and full of freckles so I BURN.

Yesterday was lovely and mild so today I've worn a short sleeve shirt to work. Omg. I am already regretting my decision. It's freezing and the wind today is unreal!! Trying to remember that April showers bring May flowers!

How are the spring summer garden's looking? My pots and window boxes are being battered with wind and rain but I've sweetpea which I'm hoping are tough enough to withstand it at this stage. Bring back the sunshine, eh!

Do you know the garden/area well? If so you could check the labels on the plants, to see if they prefer sunny or shady spots, how big they will grow, when they’ll flower, if they’re scented, and also if they’re suited to growing in pots. They’ll have displays in the garden centre of stuff that will be ready to flower soon. Just check the labels and you can’t go wrong. You can also look if they’ve got pots already planted up with displays, and copy what they’ve got in

Thanks, that's good to know. I suppose garden centres are there for that reason aren't they. To help people out who have bo idea like myself lol. No, I don't know the garden well at all, only seen it once. I look on in admiration at people who take lots of care and pride of their gardens - i think it's brilliant.
