On another note, we've noticed she has a cracked nail? I don't know if this is normal or it'll fall off on its own or if we need to talk to the vet?

She doesn't appear to even notice it, isn't in pain or pulling away when we touch it and she's walking on it without any issues. She seems fine but I'm slightly worried about her catching it and then bleeding out or something .

@Bobby Chariot she's beautiful, how is she settling?

Am in abit of a dilemma, really want another dog, just found out where I got my last jr from, there's a bitch in pups, am so tempted, but we tried a pup with my dog last year and it didn't work,I really think he was grieving his mate, not sure what do to.

She's been a bit of a madam the past day or two, really going nuts in the garden.
The grass out back looks like a WW1 battlefield lol
It will take a few months for her to really settle I feel, the fact the she was still racing this year doesn't help, but she is very intelligent & stubborn.
Not sure about your dilemma but 1 dog is more than enough for us just now
I guess you would need to take your dog along & see how it reacts to the pups?

Yeah, I have to travel about 45 minutes to the place where I train. I would definitely be tempted to stick with the 6 minute drive too!
No I've not been to any workshops. I kinda feel like what my instructor has to say is enough for us at the moment!
I find it hard not to compare myself to others as well. My dog also isn't a collie and there are people who started at the same time who are much better than us. In those times I have to remind myself that I'm doing this for fun and for my dog. We're never going to crufts and that's totally fine! As long as he's having a good time, that's my top priority!

How often do you do is it weekly? I go weekly usually but I doubt I will soon with the weather over winter.
I haven't done any workshops either because I don't know how my dog would behave I want to get him better at doing it alone first my old trainer did do some work shops not long ago so maybe if she did more I'd go there.
I don't think anyone from my initial training classes still goes there. He was the only non collie in our class but I think at that point he was keeping up with them and was braver for some things.
Yeah I'd like to compete but just for fun

Still think it’s fake. The SIAC thing is pointless as the owner self registered the age.. The vet how did they confirm it? I read from a vaccine certificate? Unless it’s from a microchip then I’d believe it. The pictures first 3 he has the white patches, so we are to believe an old animal instead of going grey turns brown?

@Bobby Chariot me just being a nosey bugger how much do you pay for the field play?
I'm so lucky where I am, when I had 2, there's places like that, was such a relief to walk around not being anxious who's coming around the next corner etc. we rent a field down the road from us, I can take boy numerous times a day, he needs running not a walk!

This must depend on the circumstances, a good rescue wouldn’t deny the most appropriate care for an animal.

My rescue dog was nearly euthanised at 4 years old by her previous rescuers. She has behavioural issues and had bitten them, because she wasn’t being managed properly. She’s been hard work and a learning curve but is the sweetest girl, it breaks my heart to think what if they’d been allowed to go ahead with it.

True I'd have to check their policy first wouldn't want to be abused by people online for making a decision for my own dog

I don't know if anyone on here has had a collie, blimey, they are so sensitive and get hang ups over stupid things!
My boy is 5, he's been good as gold, but lately, he's been weird about stuff, hard to explain, but I've had collies all my life, they're a strange dog!!

Congrats dogs are the best. I got an Amazon Blink from Argos for £20, they’re security cameras so have motion sensors and notify me when she’s roaming the kitchen.

Yes, they are fully high fenced, poo bags, bins, water tap, picnic table & a shelter.
Some fields have obstacles, jumps etc in them.

That's a lot of money for half an hour!

Yes, weekly. I'm lucky as the venue has an indoor arena so have been able to go year round. It's still freezing in winter though!
From what you've said it sounds like you could probably do anysize classes already? My experience of doing anysize classes at shows has been that most people/dogs have an absolute disaster of a round as they're all just there for the experiance. Once I realised nobody else was going clear I felt much less nervous about entering

That's quite expensive, used to be £5 an hour down here, you had to pay more if you had more dogs!

Has anyone's doggo ever had a runny/congested nose? My poor puppy has got himself a cold and is really bunged up. He's only 4 months old. The vet couldn't tell us what he had and just told us to "monitor him". He has got better but is more bunged up today as I think it's all coming off of him. I feel so sorry for the poor boy, he's so tired with it.

Although he has been living the dream with honey and chicken broth served at breakfast and dinner

Mine did when he was 10months. It was an upper resp infection. Nothing a week of metcam and antibiotics didnt clear up

Has anyone done the bronze Kennel club good citizen training? My puppy classes finish this week so trying to decide whether it's worth to do the bronze award.
I've signed up for recall classes because at the time there wasn't any bronze awards I could make it to due to work, but now they've released more dates which will perfectly line up with when I'd finish recall class.
