To be honest, I worked with a few people like that when working in financial services. Somehow their face fitted and they got a good job. However, as they weren't very competent, they'd continue to get promoted out of harms way. You'd have to smile and nod, placate them in meetings but disregard every suggestion. It could be quite exhausting.

I think Zara manages to not look frumpy in hers.

It all looked like fairly heavy crepe fabric too, they must have been boiling in them in full sun.
