I'd also recommend them to watch 'This Drug May Kill You' a documentary on the opioid crisis in the USA; it shows how awful getting addicted to painkillers is. It used to be available on Sky Atlantic (I would assume they watch so much TV they have Sky?) on catch-up; it may still be there.
