Influencers make up their health records are leaked on tattle because people talk about the health issues they broadcast to the internet and they talk about the birth of their child that they shared all the details of. Then monetise that child from before they were born. But what Elton deal with is actual intrusion.

While I agree that Elton's medical information is not something that the newspapers should report on and none of our business, he said that it was his own publicist that had given ANL this information!

How can a journalist hack into confidential medical records? Or is there a dodgy medic who is selling this information?
Elton said that the information printed by the Mail was incorrect so obviously nobody has hacked into any medical records. It's a sackable offence for anyone to breach medical confidentiality like that so information wouldn't have been obtained from a medical professional. That leaves a 'friend' source making it up for money or his inept publicist.
If his landlines were bugged/hacked as he claims he's got to prove it and do a Wagatha.
It's obviously infuriating for him to have people making up stuff about him but his statement makes no sense to me.
What's with the current fixation on:

This whole trial seems like a confusing mess. The dodgy hacker Burrows claims that his statement saying that he worked for ANL was forged! Of course he could be lying about this but if he has withdrawn his statement they need some more solid proof.

The current fixation appears to be baldness, male and female.
It's good the subject is being openly talked about, many would wrongly feel ashamed to address it, but it's at least a couple of articles a day for a while now.

Anyone notice more and more articles having comments completely disabled from the off?
It used to only be if it was a legal matter and comments could risk the investigation/trial.
Now it's happening randomly on all sorts of stories, especially anything of a "sensitive" nature like a piece that was critical of celebrity GoFundMe.
I don't get it, what are Fail so afraid of? That someone will sue? It's getting ridiculous and it is hard enough to get a comment through in the first place, I gave up entirely a couple of years ago. Now even reading them is becoming hindered.

apparently its full of trolls saying nasty things when I've seen a lot worse in their own comments section!I'm convinced that their journalists have lifted some information from Tattle over the years as well, then they pretend to be circumspect and professional and write articles that are very light on facts. Most of their content is nothing but opinion.
It's probably harder to moderate genuine hate speech on a Daily Mail comments section than it is on, say, Tattle. Not worth their time or effort so they turn the comments off.
It's never occured to me to post comments on the DM site TBH.
Though I read a fair few in lieu of reading the actual article.
I average reading about 2/4 full articles per year. Probably one of the Last ones was Purple Aki to double check he'd really gone. You couldn't be too careful with that one IMO. Theres also the psychic predictions that I'd be bereft without.
DM discussion interests me because so many people profess to despise it yet often seem to be avid and regular readers.
That disconnect arouses my own interest and curiosity in turn.
There's some academic research that posits newspaper reading habits are "learned" from parents reading habits. Both my parents read it and were always being triggered by some journo demagogue called Lynda Lee Potter so things haven't changed that much barring the names when it comes to stirring the pot. It's what demagogues are paid to do.
They did once have a rep of having the largest/best in depth crime reporting team in the business bar none but those days are long gone.
Now they fruitlessly try to chase and capture the contemporary Zeitgeist and invariably fail so the "house style" just ends up sounding a bit creepy/odd/anachronistic/divorced from reality.
Those are my current views on the DM and I've wasted a good part of my lunch break on them TBQFH.

They might as well do away with all commenting ability at this point. They used to be entertaining on the showbiz stories but now everyone is at least somewhat media savvy and wants to control their narrative, not so much.

There was an article on Caroline Hirons, all comments disabled and she's posting about how bonkers it is the daily mail is talking about her marriage, when she gave an interview talking about her marriage.

All advertorials. They wouln't allow comments as people would say what they think of her, pretty much the same as they do on tattle. Ghastly person that claims tattle is all death threats and the worst things possible. In reality it's honest opinions of an abrasive person.
She is so unlikeable. And I once bought an expensive pot of her face cream (not knowing it was her brand - the girl in Space NK was pushing it) and it was crap.
