This is going to make me sound like a snob but I despise the Daily Mail and refuse to click on links. It’s a vicious, misogynistic rag whose only purpose appears to be whipping up hatred against minorities and creepy celeb papping.

When I was studying Fashion Journalism I was an intern for a week at the DM. The Mail HQ offices are out of this world. The HQ offices were like a mini-city as it has a huge entrance and glass windows/offices around and you can see a glass elevator moving up and down. Oh my god, the catering was sooo good as it has a huge kitchen where you can always order food and a mini costa cafe. That was the best part for me - the catering.
I was working for the Femail part and was working directly with the Femail editor. For that week I was on a photoshoot with some soap stars (don't ask me who as I can't remember!) and did lots and lots of research online for various fashion trends. For the most part, it was quite a quiet week and I had my own office (ok so it was a little cubby hole but it was made into an office). The one thing that struck me while there, was how nobody really took any notice of the website or really wanted to comment on it. I never worked on the website, I was just the extra hand to do research and iron clothes or get coffees. Everyone was friendly to me. The intern was part of my uni course so I didn't get paid obviously. I'll try and dig out a photo I took of a behind the scene look at the photoshoot I was working on. This was also 10-11 years ago so things might have changed.

It never ceases to amaze me how badly written and poorly researched some of their online articles are. I know my grammar and spelling isn’t always perfect, but I‘d expect it of a journalist.

How can they get this guy's name wrong. The lack of care over that is so disrespectful to the poor guy. It's not a one off mistake, the wrong name is used several times in the story and on the photo captions!

As a former sub I can tell you right now that almost everyone has been laid-off and they use AI to sub and edit their bullshit.

The Observer is going next. The London Evening Standard has already gone. The Express is almost finished. Regional newspapers owned by 'Reach PLC' are now produced via a central hub. I could go on.

So don't expect good journalism, grammar, spelling. Those days are over (it's been over for 10 years truth be told). What you read is mostly produced by AI and designed for clickbait advertising revenue.

When we had the Unpopular Opinion thread I suggested people should admit they read the DM and stop pretending otherwise. It's the most popular out there so someone is reading it. Nothing beats the side bar of shame and they used to have some good articles. The politics has gone a bit ridiculous but I think most media and news outlets are these days. It's all drama and hyperbole. All very binary.

I haven't subscribed yet though. I can't believe it's not ad free!!

I'm thinking about the irony of recent events. The Mail is having a field day at the moment, publishing various articles about - well you know what. The irony is, I first discovered Tattle when I was reading a comment section, in one of their articles. The moderators on that site, did nothing to discourage people from mentioning Tattle.

So why all of a sudden, are the Mail taking the moral high ground?

It is an absolute joke given that the DM is notorious for its toxic comment sections
And why have his parents been doxed, what's it got to do with them?

It's been a guilty pleasure of mine since childhood as both my parents read it.
Some academic research of newspaper reading habits conducted in the 90's suggest personal news paper choices are influenced by parents reading habits. I don't know if it's valid but it was/has been in my case. I also read the Times as they did.
I go straight to comments. Rarely even read the articles.
I've had people call me a fascist or dodgy for reading it. Had arguments about it with freinds. They started them not me. I don't give a shit what other papers people read. Unless it's the Volkischer Beobachter.
It's reductive and juvenile thinking all mail readers are dodgy. Just like any generalisations. It's always lazy thinking.
Tattle owes DM and DM owes Tattle by my reckoning. I found out about here from there tbh. I suspect quite a few have.

You have to be nuts to spend your life taking content for the gram and browsing other people's lives. The sensible people, especially celebs are the ones that stay the hell away from that crap.

The mail has a video autoplaying as it's top story on the homepage of Anthony Joshua being pulled out of a car crash that has just killed two of his friends.

The absolute gall of the mail to complain about tattle with what it publishes. But tattle is a handy target to absorb responsibility rather than admit you're complicit with real life harassment and publishing things to cause distress. Just like the papers did with Caroline Flack and paying for photographers to stalk her at home.

The mail regularly doxxes and takes photos of members of the publics homes. But tattle is stalking and harassment for commenting on the homes these influencers share themselves on social media .

Why are have there been so many stories about ‘Gails’ bakery in the DM recently? I’ve never even heard of them before and on looking at their website they’ve got hardly any branches outside of London, so hardly a ’middle class rival’ to Greggs like they’re making out. I hope everyone has read all the posts about Tattle vs the Sands and the excellent piece written by the Free Speech Union which is pinned. I'm delighted that their appalling behaviour has now been exposed.

Of course the bloody Daily Mail will likely just ignore it and continue to let everyone think that the awful couple were in the right.
It will be interesting to see if any of the MSM will now stop their ridiculous campaigns against this site.

Just like when they post a picture of someone in a bikini who has gained weight or a celebrity who hasn’t been seen for 20 years and has obviously aged. But remember it’s Tattle that’s full of bullying trolls
