I know6 shotsomg. I do a 3 shot americano at home and thought that was a lot.
I don’t sleep much anyway so it makes no difference, I can use an instant coffee in less than a week, if I was just using pods I’d need to be taking out a loan or dealing on the streets.

Ugh I love coffee so much and definitely have some Australian coffee snobbery. But I haven’t yet reached James Hoffmann levels of snobbery. Heaven help me if I ever do!
I get my beans from a local roaster and have a Breville (aka Sage) Barista Pro. Sometimes do stovetop with a Bialetti Moka pot too.

Several varieties of Costa beans are half price at Tesco right now. Only tried the signature blend and not a fan.

So, I appropriated a 'not used in 2 years' Tassimo machine and I've been playing with that. Had a look on youtube for some pod reviews and BANG, right into the rabbit-hole of coffee youtube. Who knew coffee was on it's third wave? That coffee even had waves? There's drama about espresso machine kickstarters, incredible!
Not 100% sold on the tassimo just yet. The pods are expensive and none I've tried so far (just espresso and americano) have been good.
I'm normally a cafetiere on a morning person with some supermarket house blend, then I switch to decaff Azera after that. I'm trying some better quality beans at the mo, they do taste better, even with a blade grinder- coffee snobs would be horrified!
I've been watching a lot of James Hoffmann. I do like the guy (he has good creds and clearly knows his stuff), but the amount he's raking in from ad revenue, sponsorships plus £16k per month over on Patreon?! Who knew there was so much money in this?

Same and shipping is expensive and slow for me. I don't think the site is that well designed as you need to make several clicks to go into each variety to see information.
I know James thinks light or medium-light roast is always the best, but it's not what I'm used to and I doubt I'd like it even if it is objectively better.

I only drink two cups of black coffee each day. I usually buy the Kenco Millicano variety. I do have a cafetière somewhere in a box, I think, haven’t used it since before moving house last year.
I used to buy those little ground coffee one-cups, which you place on top of a cup and let it filter through. Actually, I might start buying them again, as the coffee did taste nicer.

Hoffman says it makes pretty good espresso which means it makes amazing espresso. Hates the design and the drip coffee is rubbish. He does nitpit at little things like not being able to make a mistake accidentally grind unless the holder is in place, so quite the glowing review.
I wonder if they'll do just an espresso version? I would like something smaller and only really need espresso.

I actually buy my oat milk from minor figures have had there cartons of oat milk latte before... will have a look.There are definitely a few U.K. brands around but I haven’t tried them. I remember buying some from independent coffee stores in London when I lived there too. I can’t do cold brew, alas. I like the taste but it makes me so jittery and gives me a headache! @Oohthedrama’s order would probably kill me (I bow down to your caffeine tolerance levels!)

Gustatory! They have great selections of roasters, they post their upcoming roasters on their Instagram, and really good customer service. You can also request particular tasting notes if you have certain preferences, and can choose between filter or espresso roasts.
Oddly enough I was just about to start a coffee thread . I've started watching some terrible coffee snobs and their over the top expressions over a coffee grinder that has apparently made their high quality coffee disgusting and totally undrinkable
I don't know much about coffee, but started drinking semi recently.
I have the Aldi Italian style beans (1.49 for 225g), grind them in a nutribullet each day and brew in a French press for 5-6 mins. Seems cheap for coffee but tastes on par with a medium roast at Starbucks or Costa to me.
Apparently good coffee isn't subjective. Can anyone recommend some fancy stuff to taste the difference with?

From what the coffee snobs say, unless you're dropping a grand or two bean to cup things are a total waste. Lots of them tend to buy things like an espresso as it's not worth the effort needed to make a good one at home.
For his youtube I think he'd just need some part time people to help with recording and editing as I think he does a fair few things and youtube is just one sideline.
