I don't get where this "deceipt" comes from. She said from the beginning she wouldn't be discussing her relationships, which seemed to imply that there were some going on..and she was terrible at keeping them hidden. If anyone felt deceived by this "discovery" of their relationship, it's because they wanted to be. You had to be work really hard at keeping those blinders on. It was obvious very early on
By your description, if it is entirely consistent, than that could just be her genuine self. And then that would then suggest that she isn't fake, but just not capable of a deeper feeling or deeper relationship that others may have.
I find that a bit sad. But if you've never had it, then you don't miss it I suppose. If that is truly her personality, once again, it isn't intentional deceipt, it's a flaw of character... A certain lacking of depth? I find it interesting.
It really sounds like palace intrigues from a historical fiction novel!

I agree 1 million percent! Haworth is so delightful and picture-esque! I feel like Marie is at home there, and has found an amazing set of surrogate parents who have taken her under their wing! I think this is exactly what the lost girl needed, as the transformation of Marie and her attitude speaks volumes! Nikki is incredible- she's really taken to Marie, and treats Marie like a daughter- and whilst Marie was rolling her eyes enroute to pick up a sofa, you can tell she loves Nikki like the mother she's never had.
Philip is so unattractive to us because he's extremely submissive and unconfrontational, nobody wants to be with a pushover, not really, unless there's something wrong with them. Only a narcissistic person who never wants to be challenged will want a partner who does nothing but deliver exactly what they're told to deliver. Normal people want challenges so they can grow in their relationships. Philip is not challenging her.
The age gap is not important except in a sense that maybe if he'd be older (I assume he's never dated and probably a virgin before entering her orbit) he could protect himself better. Maybe his grandparents also encouraged him since they're her fans and who could be more wonderful and perfect for him (just like parents pushed their sons into Michael Jackson's bed. I know, I know, the comparison is harsh but I want to bring a point across. The dynamic's the same. Same goes to her fawning fans.)
Now when the secret is out in the open and her vlogs will never be the same, she'll grow bored with him. Secrets can be seductive and certainly play a role in their relationship. It's been a fun game hiding it but now when it's over the attraction will start to fade.
