You don't have to give up your citizenship to get the French residency ! You can be bi-national - and even tri and more.Isn't he a British citizen? He wouldn't have had to give that up to get French residency. Too bad on him that he didn't, though as lots of his family and friends are there. He would have had to jump through a few hoops to get certification for work in France, though. I wonder if he got turned down or just didn't bother trying. He was quick to get licensed for his drone....which he doesn't use anymore.
