It looks a little bit like a First Communion dress. Traditionally, Catholic girls wear a white dress with a white head covering when they receive their First Communion (around 7-8 years old). But I don’t think Fanny is Catholic (?).
As a Catholic who made her first Holy Communion, it was all very plain and virginal. and I’d guess that was never the type of dress worn back in Fanny’s day. Eldest Daughter is 6 years younger than her and her dress and her classmates dresses wern’t anything like that.
The mystery deepens ………………..

I do. Three cousins.

Yesterday, while observing Shabbat and the holiday of Shemini Atzeret, my family was oblivious to what was happening in Israel.
The only person who knew about the attacks was my wife who did not know how to tell anyone of us.
She knew how close Israel was to our hearts as a family. We have homes in Jerusalem and in Tel Aviv.
As soon as Shabbat ended, we were all shocked by the news and started contacting family and friends.
None of them picked up their phones which added greatly to our crippling worry and helplessness. It was grueling.

One cousin finally made contact about five hours ago--which was the middle of the early morning hours there.
She and her husband live in a beachfront community on the outskirts of Ashdod where they are very close to the fighting.
She told me that they'd been told to stay indoors and close down their window steel barriers! They are safe, but very much afraid.

The other cousin who lives in Tel Aviv called her dad (my uncle) about two hours ago and told him that they saw a couple of Hamas rockets hit an apartment building and level a business to the ground just five blocks down from their apartment building. They all want to leave, but none of them can fly out of the country. All flights have been canceled. I was supposed to go two weeks from now.
My cousin's best friend's neighbor, a beautiful 22-year-old woman had been taken captive by terrorists from her home in Sderot.
Her family fears the worst has already happened.

The third, a second cousin who is an IDF reservist and a medical doctor in Jerusalem has been called to report for duty.

Everything feels so surreal. So many innocent lives are ruined and wasted on both sides.

Prayers and positive thoughts are appreciated.
I am so sorry for your family. It's just terrible and so frightening. I am glad you are safe. Sending lots of love to you and all the innocent people affected by this tragedy.

Yes, if Fanny had worn that dress during First Communion, all eyes would have been on her…she’d have been the center of attention. Then again…🤔 😆😆😆

I have a suggestion for Fanny's Advent vlogs. Number one, define advent which "is the season of reflective preparation for Christ's Nativity at Christmas", not a time for Liberty of London or some other outrageously expensive Advent calendar. Number two, use the time to clear out ALL the crap that is getting in the way of that reflective preparation. No need to BUY more stuff for content. No need to travel to Christmas markets and BUY more stuff. No need to BUY more designer holiday dresses. How about a BUY FREE series of Advent vlogs? Marie and Phil can make gifts and decorations from the stuff they uncover in the clear out. It would be such a breath of fresh air and in keeping with the original meaning of Advent. I am a lapsed Catholic but still reflect on the meaning of life during both Advent and Lent as they both stem from pagan days preparing for the upcoming seasons of winter and spring, times of dying and rebirth.

I don't think the Little Bo Peep was a first communion outfit. Not pure white, no veil, no bible, no rosary.

That is so tragic the boot polish is so much darker than the hair. A cool 26 year old with confidence would shave their head. He is a lost soul young pube.
Young Pube is pushing 30 years old. Living with a woman who could be his mother, in the middle of the styx, collecting china. Pretending to have some sort of pedigree. When he’s finally ousted I think it’s going to be a rude awakening. But, maybe not…maybe Young Pubes is more crafty and resilient than we give him credit. He’s already had several careers…boy band, actor, gigolo to old Fanny. I wonder where life will take him next?

At this point, he really should just shave it. I'd still think he was a creep but I'd respect him a bit more if he did.

I thought she said she spent time with grandparents. They might have been Catholic and had her make her first communion? Also grandparents might have dressed her like that, maybe it was her mothers dress from childhood?

Re: Chateau Love's latest...
- Viv's daughter has the same pretentious affected accent of over-enunciating her Ts. So annoying!
- Viv's mom pays a visit. She looks young so just how old is Viv anyway? I assumed she's in her early 50s but after seeing her mom I'm not so sure. I'm a little freaked out that I just might be older than Viv!

Believe it or not, I’m Catholic (although not a practicing Catholic). I believe the prerequisite for First Communion is Baptism (I’m not sure if you must be baptized in the Catholic Church, or just baptized within any denomination). And, there are classes the children must take before First Communion. So, if Fanny had First Communion within the Catholic Church, there would have been some kind or preparation. One thing that’s changed since I was a kid…Catholic children in our diocese today must have their first Penance (Confession) before receiving First Communion. My niece had her First Penance in second grade, and First Communion in fourth grade. Not sure if it’s like that everywhere or not.

Same with me back in the day. If I went to Confession now I'd have to schedule a block booking with the Priest as in 'Bless me Father it's 50 years since my last Confession' ;)

I scrolled quickly through the infested mattress vlog & the patron vlog. I noted how odd it is as they take great care to curate furniture from the era of the farmhouse to be historically correct, yet decorate the walls with 1950's Daddy's soft porn schlock art. How unimportant must the patrons feel not having fixed times for their special weekly vlog.

Snorts hair is a mess. Samson and Delilah story comes to mind, these kids have a good take on it, especially at the end when the Chelsea Flower Show purchase is shown. The Philistines were early Tattlers.

I had the impression it was a genetic thing because my paternal grandmother had them and my aunt (father’s sister) have them and I have some already too… since I never sleep under the sun (after my teenage years were over) I got the impression it was a genetic thing (the amount of weird bodily things which are genetic is endless).

However, I recently heard someone else say that cleavage wrinkles have a lot to do with many decades of side sleeping… that made sense to me as I’ve been a life long side sleeper
I sleep on my front so maybe that’s why I’ve escaped them.

Not a fan of Chateau chronicles but did watch latest.... Abby put together a good varied programme of activities and had a chef for her workshop. A guest could have skipped the art and still had a good time.

Just sitting here in my studio and watching The Chateau Chronicles, when Mr. Iolair walks in and says "What the duck are you listening to? That music is horrible." So yes, La Belle Epoch strikes again and finds a new hater. 🤮😆
