So Pavlina is back at the HMN. SJ made a huge point of saying how much she had missed her - not entirely convinced from what @Clara Burnett has said about SJ's feeling with regard to Pavlina in the past. ;)
What exactly will she be doing?
No real gardening required, apart from maybe helping Davy/Kirsty with the shrubs next week. No B&B guests either.
And, I would imagine, that any guests staying over Christmas at the HMN will be fending for themselves and not expecting a chambermaid to make their beds and clean their bathrooms.
How do you think that the financials are actually worked out for these huge gatherings? I somehow feel that SJ doesn't foot all the bills even though she is a millionairess by grifting. We all know that millionaires don't become so by splashing their money around!
Stephanie Jarvis usually only provides food for the actual Christmas meal. All the other day she feeds herself on what her "guests" bring in and prepare.

The refugee is back and has probably been given a sleeping bag by the Floor Scrubber and told specifically to sleep under one of the beams in the “not so grand” salon. The Floor Scrubber has told her it is a French Advent tradition. 😂 😂 😂

I found the 192 directory of where people have been registered to live in the UK
There are 3 entries with Sharon Jarvis & Nick Larkin living under the same roof. So are they related in some way or have I got the wrong Sharon & Nick?
Just spitballing some ideas here, Please Take no offense , just tossing some ideas around.

Could Sharon L Jarvis mean Sharon Larkin Jarvis? Nic goes by his mothers maiden name Larkin? Have either of his parents been divorced?

Does nic have a half sister?

Is the reason Nic’s father is wearing a bag over his head because he looks so much like Derek Jarvis and wants to hide his face so no one guesses the connection?

Nic has scrubbed pretty much all info about Derek Jarvis, Isabelle Jarvis, and himself, etc. except for carefully non revealing generic info. Also pretty much scrubbed all nursing home info, etc. What are you hiding nic?

Being related in some way would explain why he bought the Dump with Derek and why he has bailed out the orphan princess over the years and why his parents paid off Nic’s mortgage on the property.

As for dating a cousin or relative, Fanny encourages her animals to interbred with close family members so dating a cousin would seem natural to her.

Gerry never reveals a middle name or middle initial on any articles etc, is his middle name Derek, Jarvis, or Charles ( Derek Jarvis middle name)?

Apologies in advance but Im carrying on the tablecloth convo in this thread as the last one ended too quickly for me to reply on it & I wanted to contribute my particular tablecloth saga …..

I also don’t like tablecloths & prefer to have just a nicely polished wooden table and placemats for daily use plus a table runner for some occasions. I do also love a, crisply ironed to within an inch of it’s life, white damask one for very very special dinners (but can only face that ironing task maximum once a year.) However whenever we are in our french holiday house I have to admit to an ongoing battle of the tablecloths .

We were incredibly lucky when we bought the house to be introduced to a lady from the village - now in her mid 60s - who has worked at the house in some capacity or other since she was 16 years old. We were equally as lucky that she was happy to also work with us & keep an eye on the house when we aren’t there plus help out a bit when we are etc etc. She is an absolute godsend in every respect & has made arriving & living in the village so easy & an absolute joy in terms of her introductions & our inclusion in events. She doesn’t speak a word of English (or should that be quite rightly refuses … & as a result our French conversation skills have come on leaps & bounds.) However she definitely does NOT consider a table properly laid unless it has a tablecloth on it. I only own my big white one ..so she has also ‘kindly’ taken it upon herself to search out a number from the local vide greniers - and it seems to be the more granny-patterned or 70s coloured they are the more she loves them 😂 (& then proceeds to constantly cover the kitchen & dining room tables at every opportunity with these delights) I did try to have a diplomatic conversation about how we prefer not to use them ….. but was quickly put in my place as she told us it is very impolite in french custom to eat from a bare table. She clearly thinks we English are just uncouth & dirty philistines. 😆

I have now conceded total defeat & reluctantly live with the granny-cloths as she sees fit……. She is far too important to us & we now love her too much to risk the perfect ‘entente cordiale’ we have over a lairy flowery bit of cloth. 🤣

So before we judge the Marquis Bean & femme over their dining table ….. perhaps they have a determined french table-coverer in their household too. 🤣

Dearest Kathy,

My comments worked. Mr. French Bean’s wife is doing a tidy up before filming advent vlogs. I can admire the chateau more easily when not distracted by mess.

Perhaps not cleaning up for the visit of the Floor Scrubber and Gay Twink was deliberate. 😆

So patrons. It is time to decide you New Year Resolutions. Are you going to: a) Resolve to spread more life, love and laughter b) Carefully review your finances and ensure you give a little extra to a good cause next year to help reduce poverty, illness and disease c) Decide that over a million pounds on one person and one property in two years is simply not enough to waste on a project and contribute a million more towards someone who hasn't thought to spent a few thousand on a full structural survey and has not put a penny of her own money into the chateau for 13 years?
I know this is probably a daft question....why does she not have basic building insurance which covers a small amout for subsidence ?

She has also been featured in that programme with Ruth Watson, Country House Rescue.
She is a complete and utter hoarder, ceilings falling down in virtually every room.
Even after Ruth organised for her to sell some of her huge collection of vintage clothing/costumes etc. She just went straight out and purchased more stuff from the proceeds. It is 100% a mental health disorder.
And, she was attempting to heat the entire house from just 2 gas stove burners in the kitchen - you just can't make this stuff up!
I agree with you, definitely a mirror image of SJ's future and, not just at Christmas. :ROFLMAO:
I watched that episode with Ruth. I feel quite sorry for her as she obviously is mentally unstable. She seems like a very nice person, who like many, has a hoarding disorder and has become overwhelmed by it. I once knew a hoarder through my husband's work. She was so put together when she went out in public, that I was shocked when I saw the inside of her house. It was just awful! No plumbing, floorboards rotting away, garbage and junk everywhere, rotten curtains. It was so sad. She was an only child born late in life. Just as she became an adult, her parents fell ill and she stayed to help them. She never moved out of that house and never did any maintenance except for the yard, probably so the neighbors wouldn't call the authorities. Sounds familiar doesn't it? One night she fell asleep while smoking and the house nearly burned down. After that, her cousin and the county authorities, moved her into an assisted living home where she later died. She was a very nice lady and loved cats. 🐈

According to Brenda she does See Below. The latest message on fb rallying the troops AGAIN.

Thank you all so very much for the many many messages I have received following Stephanie's recent vlog where she tells us about some concerns about the chateau's structure which is going to need urgent attention. I apologise, I have read every message, unfortunately I am unable to reply to each one individually so I will try to give some answers here.

1. This discovery is in the very early stages, however, I am sure they will engage the necessary specialists to examine the situation thoroughly & come up with some options to move forward.

2. Insurance, I am very sure there is an insurance policy attached to the building, what it covers I do not know. I would imagine that will be another days work to investigate & hopefully the outcome will be positive.

3. I do not know what the plans are, at this stage I can speculate they do not know themselves. They will have to wait until they receive the necessary reports, have an in house meeting to discuss their options, before coming up with a workable plan.

4. Donations, thank you for offering to send these. Please note, I will NEVER accept these payments, it is absolutely NOT my place. I would advise anyone wishing to go down that route, to wait, until more information is available, depending on the status, donations may not be required. If it is going to be an option, Lalande will issue the correct procedure to follow.

5. Most importantly, no one is in physical danger at Lalande, the correct protocol is being followed to ensure everyone's safety.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

If you are a patron, great, if not no worries, we won't go down that rabbit hole. There are lots of other ways you can help...here are a few.

We, as a group, make up 10% of Stephanie's channels views, & 5 % of her You Tube followers. If we want to help & make a difference we need to get the message out on You Tube.

1. Give EVERY vlog a thumbs up.

2. Leave a comment on EVERY vlog created by Stephanie on YOU TUBE.

3. Subscribe & hit the notification button to her channels, I will put the links below.

4. Let the adverts run, the full duration on short ads & at least 30 secs on longer ones.

5. View the vlogs multiple times.

6. Share these points in a comment under every vlog on You Tube, make sure it is in sight so that others will follow.

Cornelia used to be very into high end fashion and her house was paid for for years by an ex lover-she is like Fanny's ghost of Christmas future. Surrounded by amazing antiques which are so thick with dust they can't be appreciated. I thought she was rude to the young people who came and cleaned it all, naturally they didn't share her taste or knowledge of antiques but they really cleaned the place up. Cornelia should sell the place and move into a nice warm apartment with her favourite pieces and then she can afford to live in comfort-she can't take the house with her
there are more simularities between Fanny and Cornelia...Cornelia also has bathrooms just used a stageset....with no water and plumming in...

Do you watch the hoarding series’ that Curiosity Inc clears out? He has done three. It really is quite sad and overwhelming.

Stephanie Jarvis usually only provides food for the actual Christmas meal. All the other day she feeds herself on what her "guests" bring in and prepare.
I remember when my UK friend bought a small hotel in Golf Juan, she invited me to stay for free during her first "off peak" season, i.e. November - I now realise that she was basically just lonely so created an invitee rota for many of her UK friends too.
Had a lovely time as surprisingly, the weather was spectacular for that time of the year.
Ultimately, as it transpired, because we ate out every breakfast/lunch/dinner, and I insisted that I paid most times, that holiday worked out far more expensive than any other "all-inclusive 4-star" holiday would have ordinarily cost me. And, her hotel, was defo not 4* as she was still upgrading it.
Sometimes, what may initially appear to be "free" in the first instance, can end up costing far more than originally envisaged/expected. You know what they say about a "free lunch"? ;)
Any future visits I made, I always insisted that I paid the going rate so I didn't feel beholden, and/or grateful!

I imagine that the majority of SJ's guests might feel exactly the same.

One of my grandmothers sayings. Along with why go grey when you can stay blonde. Mantras by which I live.
I've tried going back to my natural dishwater blonde with a little grey mixed in, but my hair says, "No!". It wants to be blonde and won't behave until it is. It is like a spoiled child sometimes. 👱🏻‍♀️

I just looked thru the tattle archives . Here is a 2019 news article posted about the Jarvis brother. Derek was the oldest of 3. He had a brother named John who was married to his wife since 1957.

I originally guessed that uncle Jean Christopher could be referred to as John.
But the John Jarvis brother in this article isn’t married to a Sharon. Or, is she married to another Jarvis closely related to the brothers and F4F loosely refers to him as an uncle and that explains the resemblance? Does the John in the article look like a much older version of the Jean Christopher in the above article?

I am confusing myself. Disclaimer, to cover everyone, the above discussion is all speculation for entertainment purposes only. The Mckitten is now officially carry confused.Everything associated with Stephanie Jarvis is strange and never straightforward. Smoke and mirrors 24/7 on every aspect of her life and those surrounding her

Can't read it beyond the first sentence as I feel my blood pressure rising to an unhealthy level. I actually don't need to read it anyway, I know what that horrid woman is going to say. I would love to put a curse on her, but I need to watch my karma this time of year. I'll wait until after Christmas.

Who the hell actually knows?
I personally can't even be bothered to work out which wing/rooms/floors "should" be off limits.
Obviously SJ/PJ, IJ/PA, Amaury/Nattie, Aunt/Uncle, Potts and the Larkins will all be fine - no doubt about that! Therefore, "I'm alright Jack" scenario. The rest of the upcoming Christmas residents need to think very carefully about staying, demand hard hats and, perhaps, even danger money. :ROFLMAO:
Just a thought, but no matter whatever their status or accommodation, they should all ensure that they have up to date travel/life insurance and written a Will too. That's a given, imho! ;)
