I went back and watched CD's masked ball in Venice. Low and beyond, 28 mins in, Dan and Sabine were captured sitting together on the balcony. He got up and she then helped him tie his mask back on. So, you might ask? Well, a friend would do that from the back of his head, Sabine did it face to face with her hands reaching round his neck/head, thus being able to press up close to him, and don't forget, she was wearing a rather low cut Empire line dress.
Why would young and beautiful Sabine be into Dan the gardener? He is much older, not attractive, not rich, smug, lives in a dump, just left his partner and has 2 small kids? WTF?

Never under estimate the attraction power of someone being there and available versus suitability
l think we can all see where this is going. If co-parenting is the goal then Dan needs his own residence unless he lives in his studio. It is going to be too uncomfortable for Dan and Annaleise living in such a small community. She will return to UK for family and friend support. Whilst she is established in local community it is not sustainable without considerable stress - even if her mother moves permanently to France.
IMHO Dan wants to travel, see the world, not be grafting all his life.

...re-thinking...and I just spoke to an old friend...her daughter and son in law are going through something very similar...
...maybe dan is getting the bad guy treatment...and it’s just not that b&w. maybe it’s just that they grew apart...and want different things...

Funny how Dan wanted to keep his "family situation" off camera and private, but wasn't he the one who outed Amaury and his leechy hotwater bottle kissing in the background of one of his vlogs some months ago?
I know I can’t possibly know what happened with D&A, but as a women I have had the unusual opportunity to be one of guys in a group of about 15 men. I’m talking no holds barred discussion of women, relationships, and divorce (it was a pandemic with these fellas for about 7 years). I’ve seen it all. I have heard the deepest nastiest things come out of these guys. I’ve seen the cheating, acceptance of cheating, concealing of cheating, witching, moaning, blaming. I also know the wives and girlfriends, but I am there when they aren’t around, as well as when they are. I’ve also seen the anger and hurt the men felt in instances of women cheating, or not holding up their end of the money or home or kids. It’s taught me quite a lot. I’m present with my hubs. They also talk to me sometimes as well. All I can say is that we saw what Dan did, but we didn’t really see what Annalise did. So we don’t have the full picture. Especially now that we know they’ve been hiding it for a while.
I’ve seen couples on the brink of splitting think having kids will fix things. They have the kids and still split anyway, because having a kid in the middle of a mess just makes the mess worse. I’ve seen people stay with people because they did t know how to split up the finances. I’ve seen people blow up the finances and nearly kill the other one (suicide attempt/drinking) who was trying to hold it all together. One of the fellas married two different women twice in the course of his life. He’s single again. Another one bitched to no end for years about his “large” wife only to end up with a new “large” girlfriend. There’s one who cheats on his wife but loves her dearly and will never leave her. I also know two friends who agreed to let the one’s wife have sex with the friend, because it made her more frisky for the husband?!?? (They’ve been friends for 45 years?!? She can’t stand the friend?!?
I guess what I’m saying is that people are weird, and we will never know what the problem with D&A really was. It’s almost never one sided either.

What usually happens is that Dad moves out and has the kids on a weekend for a fun activity. What was Dan supposed to say on a vlog anyway? "I want to break free and finally found a way to get rid off wife and #1 and #2? I realised it's not fun to live in a dump?
I am trying to be optimistic here so I will finish on a positive note: I am sure he will pay the child support on regular basis and even be generous with it.... (though in my experience that's not what usually happens after a divorce)

I always said marriage is just a piece of paper. But in some countries common law doesn’t apply so it is a legality.

As a divorced but remarried man, I can certainly empathize. Thanks for sharing. Of course they have my support and prayers. At the risk of changing the subject a bit, I saw where the Perhericks are doing something to deliver support to Ukrainaian refugees. Any plans to offer for a Ukrainanian family to stay a short time at LaLande while they decide what to do next? Just curious. This situation there is threatening all of Europe.

Yes, of course. As well as donating the February revenue from Chateau Unwrapped! to a charity working in Ukraine, we have arranged for someone fleeing Ukraine to come to Lalande shortly. Hopefully we will be able to help more people in this way.
