We have an Emmaus near home and no, they don't accept food donations either, but it could just be at the discretion of whoever runs an individual store.

I came across Kathy's Flog in France recently, which in turn lead me to Tattle, thank God. So, thank you Kathy for that as don't know your username on this forum.
Yes, she is a normal, sane woman who initially obviously just wished to flog about her move to France in order to help others who might be thinking of doing the same. Great, nothing OTT, just hints/tips regarding her own experience and what to expect.
I seem to recall that @MojoDublin made a post earlier today regarding the background checks etc in connection with offering Ukranian refugees a temp refuse, and all the Gov guidelines concerning any such offer.
IMHO, the HMN would not be considered an acceptable household or, destination for obvious reasons.
Exactly, here we have les cartons du coeur. They don't take leftovers, only packed food (cans, glasses, bags) and look at the expiration date.

More likely Maria (the Russian who actually might be from Ukraine if memory serves) who must be still travelling around Europe as a volunteer. Wait and see.

News flash... read all about it here... its me Stephanie (could be related to Jason) yes I've dropped some hints on my own vlogs but I'm so thrilled that I can actually share the exciting (sorry sad news) that Dan & Annalise have split up... Yes I was his saving grace and offered him somewhere to rest his head at La Lande where he's been staying for 6 months..I can't believe it..I have my very own live in gardener, chef , DIY puppet, (person) as well as his best mate (my cuz ) who now has his own labourer to help with the multitude of projects that have been left unattended. This wasn't my fault, as the chapel restorer is still away with the accountant and Ian left because he had his hernia problems which had nothing to do with me tying him in knots and Selmar left because Natty bullied him but I did tell her off. He's such a silly sausage isn't he? Well I must dash as I have lots more unscrupulous deeds that need my attention.

But she actually lives in Greece or Cyprus. I can’t remember which. So I doubt it is her. More than likely the girl or family of the girl who they hosted from Chernobyl desaster.

could not have put it in better terms , wheres the adults there? and lives are getting rather mixed up at the HMN. I have worked with refugees resettlement program through red cross myself taking care of Afganistan families lucky enough the men where flown over with there families . You have to go through a extensive vetting program and education on how to support them. And yes you need to be available to help them through the social welfare nightmare ,

I understand you are preparing to accept a refugee from Ukraine. I find this news deeply disturbing. This is an incredibly serious undertaking and not something to be used to raise your profile. Life at the chateau seems so frivolous and superficial. Who will provide support for this person. Will they be filmed randomly? How will you ensure their well-being if you're off on your "travels" again? They're going to need a "grown up" to make sure their psychological/physical needs are met.....I don't see any grown ups at the chateau.

What a horrible thing to say. I find it disturbing that you are encouraging people not to accept refugees. You are infantilising a grown woman who has asked to come to Lalande in her time of need. My doors are open to her. No one at Lalande is forced to be filmed, and I always respect their decision. Please think twice before telling people not to accept refugees unless they have professional physical and psychological carers in their home. People need help and housing and they need it now. Welcoming kindness is what’s urgently needed.

You asked us to reconsider doing so. Whilst the chateau may be filled with a lot of playfulness and laughter, we are all adults (however young at heart). As is the woman coming to join us. I presume that your comment comes from a place of concern about the safety of refugees. We are a place of safety and as such, we have a responsibility to act. The person coming here has specifically asked to be with us and we look forward to welcoming her.
