Yeah I have found my people! I hate summer with a vengeance, I am just not built for the heat. Every year I do Christmas in July to prep and get myself in the mood for the colder months, so just had it last Sunday, a full roast dinner with Christmas films amd a terry's chocolate orange. I have ordered myself a new winter coat too, cannot wait for the first frost to hit.

Started rewatching the vampire diaries because it reminds me of autumn and I was just telling my boyfriend how excited I am for cold mornings, hot tea and cinnamon candles 😅 I love this thread already

How do people decorate for autumn?
We have a blank canvas home at the moment. I want to make it lovely and homely but dont know where to start. Pinterest can be overwhelming I just want some little bits to make it feel homely and cosy
I’m not a huge fan of super obvious autumn decor but these are a few things I’ve saved on Pinterest

Generally, I think just lots of cosy cushions, throws, candles and flowers in seasonal colours always give off an autumnal vibe 🧡

I can’t wait for autumn winter because I am sooooo sick of fucking SWEATING. Oh my good god I am constantly, and I mean constantly having to dabb sweat off my top lip and forehead. It’s so embarrassing for me (I’m female, in my 30’s and quite overweight). But I’ve not suffered like this before in the summer. It’s not enjoyable at all. I despise hot weather in this country I really do. There’s no cool breeze, it’s just thick, sticky, hot air.

Roll on it being bitterly cold outside and all the cars have frosty frozen leaves on the windshields.

Winter is dark and drab with that awful after Christmas lag of time and motivation.
Spring is a tease, wanting to awaken and get busy with hopes of hanging the washing out. The weather turns and what started off as a warm day wearing flip flops ends with you soaking wet and cold by the evening. Summer is demanding, urges to socialise and have days at the beach, longer days and it's harder to clean up, picky teas and the heat is exhausting with sleepless nights. Autumn is perfect, winding down, keeping on top of housework whilst the slow cooker simmers away. Blankets, flanette bedding, new pjs, binge watching films and shows. Ahh total bliss 😊

A walk in the rain is the perfect start to the day 🌧 it’s still quite warm but you can defo feel the season starting to change.

I feel like I’m the best version of myself in autumn and winter. I can’t articulate it properly but I just have so much more motivation and love for life.

The only good thing about autumn is Halloween. I put my Halloween decorations up earlier and take them down later every year just to get through the season. Hate short days and cold weather, especially now I can't afford to put the heating on. Can't cope without my music festivals, evening strolls and beer gardens, but the worst thing about it is the way the dreaded c-word starts rearing it's ugly head earlier and earlier every year. Put me in a cardboard box and wake me up in March.
Maybe this thread is not for you 😂

It's tipping it down with rain and really dark where I live. I'm onto my third cup of tea & making extra buttery toast. I've got woolly socks on. I'm WFH today so haven't had to put work clothes on. I feel so happy!

Well clearly this thread isn’t for you, as has been said before 🙄!

Not everyone has the same opinions and people on this thread like autumn! Personally the sun and humidity gives me migraines and makes me drip with sweat and it makes me feel so crap, hence why I prefer the colder months! If it’s not for you then fine, but maybe you should stop reading here if it bothers you.
Ive just been reading an autumn thread on mn asking what you’re looking forward to and it’s just full of miserable bastards saying nothing and being a bit snarky to people who love autumn 🙄
