Sadly that’s what she’s hoping to achieve with ‘Archie’s Law’

. Imagine the cost to the NHS if it became law for parents to make the medical decisions for their child ahead of the doctors and courts when there is clearly no hope of recovery. We’ve been in this position and it’s horrendous letting go and accepting reality but had it being law that we could keep our son on life support indefinitely then maybe we would have not listened to the doctors and took up a critical care bed that could have been used to save another child or several children. There’s no way this will ever be allowed and I think someone should be telling Hollie Dance the implications of what she is requesting. The fact that all paediatric intensive care beds will be full of children with no hope but who can stay there as long as the parents want, taking both beds and specially trained doctors and nurses away from treating children who do have a chance to survive.
