My childhood wasn’t the best, my dad abused me and my siblings in more way than one but I promised myself my kids wouldn’t the childhood I did. I’m sure most people who have had an tit childhood would want different for own their kids or is that just me?

she used her son to gain media attention, money and whatever else & to me that’s unforgivable.
Absolutely correct. With you ALL the way.

I hope they do get a debriefing but don't hold your breath usually too busy so it gets pushed aside.
Police typically don't. If you have a brilliant supervisor they might allow you to go home for the rest of the day. That's very rare though.

EDIT: Quoted the wrong post, this was in response to your quote sorry.

To be fair no one really knows what’s happening. Maybe his dad doesn’t agree with holly but has just had to go along with it all? As for going home the other night, people need to sleep and I’m not being horrible but it’s hardly quality time he’d be spending with Archie who has long gone by this point.
Why does he have to go along with it all? This is the point I’m making really, an example of how dads just get let off the hook.

I'm so sorry you went through that. I too was abused as a child by my mother. I always promised myself that when I had children (I now have 3) that I would never ever let them feel the way I did as a child. I would never hurt my children, I think because of my own abuse I'm so overprotective of my children.
People don't necessarily become bad parents because of their past, it seems Hollie was always more interested in the limelight than being a mother.

Been following this thread for a while now. Agree with what so many of you have said. I hope that poor boy is at peace finally.
Am I right in thinking that as he is brain stem dead, once machines are turned off his heart can't function for any length of time on its own therefore it would be a matter of minutes before it stopped?

Do you really think Holly would be talked down by anyone about this, especially an ex partner? I just don’t understand how you can call out Holly for doing media appearances while at the same time calling put the dad for not doing enough and remaining in the background.

They will also be offered a formal debriefing.
Interestingly, there is belief during the NHS that Police/Fire/Paramedics (some trusts only) are given the remainder of the shift off.
This is not the case in the NHS.

Don’t come at me if you work for any any those, but confirmation or denial would be great.
In my bit of the NHS you don’t even get a debrief…. I’ve taken to instigating them with my team when we have an incident. It shouldn’t be that way but…

He can't breathe by himself, so the heart would gradually stop in a couple of minutes or thereabouts.

I'm hoping no updates means the family are spending time with him saying their goodbyes.

Would even hope for just a spokesperson update later & no actual on screen time from any of them.

His passing should have been quick once the vent removed, from what's been said previously here.

Hopefully the life support has been turned off, nobody should be forced to exist in the way Archie does, his mother is one truly evil witch.
Allowing your son to decompose so that you can profit and become a celebrity is one of the most vile things I have ever seen, there is a special place in hell for revolting slappers like Hollie Dance

The system does typically lean towards giving women more rights over their child. It's a bit of an antiquated view but maybe he feels there's no use trying. Courts do try and treat things 50/50 nowadays but I think too many men believe there's no use even trying to argue against the mother's views.

But if he disagreed he could have said so and had his opinion taking into account. But he didn't so probably agreed with it all and didn't get any flack for that, seen many many posts saying how sorry people felt for the dad

I looked through her tiktok the other day and was really shocked to see it's a mix of Archie and thirst traps or trends...

His heart will carry on beating as long it has oxygen - as he can't breathe without being ventilated it will stop functioning quite quickly.

Palliative oxygen wouldn't make a difference in his case (something the family were asking for) as he simply wouldn't breathe it in.

We are offered a de-briefing in some cases, more so when children are involved, in the 15+ years I've worked in critical care we have never been sent home (can't say I've ever really thought of wanting to go home) but what these staff have been through I can imagine it may well be offered and I could completely understand why they would take it and leave early/need some time off.

I found someone dead in their bed totally unexpected. We had to do CPR although it was far too late. No debrief was given we even had to fight to find out the post mortem cause of death.

You’re right.
They will spend hours on the phone to their colleagues till late at night.
They will huddle in the sluice whispering with someone who they trust, with what ignorant staff call gossip, but more seasoned staff recognise as reflecting and de-stressing.
They will overload on Haribos and Starbucks which is the official NHS diet.
In my experience staff prefer to find comfort in colleagues rather than formal support.

This level of heartbreak, denial and abuse will be happening in nearly every single area of the NHS, if not the media coverage.

I’ve left the NHS after 3 decades, and I would not wish to go back for a moment. I would never recommend it as a career.
My heart goes out to all of them.

That’s the thing…surely after 6 months his necrotic brain tissue will be liquifying? It’s very icky to think of but that’s the indignity that that is being visited upon the poor child…
