I hope to god she has not been kicking off their are other children and family going through this and will do it with dignity and respect, she prob blocking door for the medical staff to get in to turn everything off, cos if she was being violent the hospital security would remove her surely

Re: the seeming delay. The original letter with 2pm withdrawal said other tubes would be removed in the morning leaving just the ventilator for 2pm. I can’t imagine they started this process too early this morning so seems quite normal? Also, they probably darent do anything without Hollie/Lisa there and she’ll be having her breako in the cafe won’t she

It depends on the RESPECT or UP form that people have as well. Mind you, I’ve had people who’ve clearly had RESPECT forms, advanced decisions and carers/family on board with no CPR and paramedics have still started it. Depends on the paramedics a lot of the time - some don’t feel confident with calling the facts (which is understandable but does make a bit of a mockery of the whole RESPECT system).

Palliative oxygen wouldn't make a difference in his case (something the family were asking for) as he simply wouldn't breathe it in.

Heartbreaking. Poor kid should have been allowed to go a long time ago.

It’s funny because you can tell how hard his childhood was by other means - Christmas was always a BIG deal with us - more food than we could eat and way more than we needed, for example, because he was lucky if he got an orange.

My great aunt always minimises it by saying there was always food in the house - but there was always fags and sherry too. Even when the kids had to eat bread, butter and sugar for a week.

As always, the absent silent dads take no responsibility, but have no blame directed at them either. It’s usually only the mother. Archie had two parents and on the face of it he’s been massively let down by both of them, not just Hollie. She’s just the one shouting the loudest.

I was thinking about this last night. whilst we've all been focused on Hollie and her terrible behaviour (and rightly so), Archies dad has managed to largely avoid criticism. he also failed that poor boy, in more ways than one.

This is it, much easier to just do it. You won't really get in trouble by doing CPR unless DNAR but you might if you didn't. Covering yourself.

One thing I don’t understand if I’m honest is the friend of Hollie using TikTok as a form of communication. Granted I don’t believe what happened to Archie had anything to do with any challenge but if anyone I knew died as a result of any sort of app I’d never go near it again.

I truly hope Archie gets to pass away peacefully and is finally allowed the dignity he has been denied.
I also send love to anyone who has been in this sort of situation themselves with their own loved ones.

Sky News are reported about a potential inquiry by the Government as to how these cases are handled in future.

Hopefully that will be Archie's legacy to stop other children suffering invasive and futile treatment such as he has.
