I promise I’m not dirty when I say this
But for about a few days now I’ve had no more than 2-3 flies in my house. I’ve hunted high and low to see if there’s something they are attracted too. But have been unable to find anything. I’ve cleaned up. I’ve mopped up. Ive bleached. I’ve used zoflora. I’ve just (within last hour) moved my outdoor bins as they were originally under the kitchen window (on outside) I empty my kitchen bin regularly but I can’t seem to get rid of them! I’ve left windows open. They don’t seem to leave. They’re not multiplying either. So doesn’t seem to be somethinf that will cause an infestation but they are SO annoying. It seems like the same 2-3 all the time. How can I get rid of them?
Kill then with fly spray. When they get stuck indoors they tend to die after a couple of days anyway. There might be something dead near your house and why there are more flies in the area.

They are annoying AF just get some spray and kill the little blighters

It doesn't matter how clean you keep your house, you open a door an it's like a radar goes off to every fly within a mile, I bleach mine regularly an still get the pests, unless you get those window an door nets then either a fly zapper or fly killer is your best option unfortunately, I have those annoying fruit flys that I can't seem to get rid of right now an the house has just been cleaned down with bleach

Could be cluster flies, they love in a crevice. If so, the good news is that they don’t carry the risks of house flies around food. You can get a bug bomb from Amazon for £5-10 that will get rid of them.
But honestly, we’re in the countryside and a good day is anything less than 15 house flies 🤢 - they’re rife this year with the weather

We have a wild garden and the backdoor is left open throughout the day. since we started growing tomatoes they became a noticeable pest. My aunt bought fly trap papers. Just have to unroll and they gave a sweet smell which atttracts then. Felt bad about using it personally 😂.

We are having a similar issue with flies at the moment and I've done much the same as you, including moving my bins and seen little improvement. In all honesty I think it might just be the time of year/heat etc causing it. I did buy some of those sticky tape things and pin them up by doors/windows to see if that helped but in all 4 tapes I stuck up I caught a whopping... wait for it....... ONE fly! So they were a load of rubbish really :ROFLMAO:

I have a strange problem that I don't know how to solve.

A friend of mine lives abroad and comes back to our hometown (where I live) a few times a year. She asks to meet up and I'm happy to but she has this tendency to always include another friend of hers in the invite, and I don't have any interest in spending time with that person.

If I get a heads up that the other friend is coming, I make an excuse, but yesterday we were going for coffee and when I picked her up she said "friend is coming too, she will meet us there" and my heart sank.

My time is really precious to me and I'm at that stage of life (40) where I really can't be bothered spending time with people I don't like. I thought of making an excuse and leaving but decided to go ahead with the coffee plan.

It was fine but just reconfirmed my previous impressions of this person.

Any tips for dealing with this? I don't think I can say to my friend as she would be extremely hurt. I can be really blunt and hurtful to friends and I really don't want to be in this case.

Do I just suck it up?

Personally I wouldn’t suck it up. I would try and be diplomatic. She probably doesn’t realise she’s annoying you bringing friends with her. However maybe just say it would be nice to spend one on one time together

I agree with above poster, maybe just let her know that you hardly get to spend time as it is an when you do get together you'd rather it just be the two of you

Has anyone ever been at the point where they are done listening to/trying to help a friend who will not leave a bad relationship even though they have every Avenue and all of the support to do so

Is it cruel to not want to be friends anymore? It doesn’t even feel like there is a friendship left and I can no longer hide the anger and hurt I feel towards her.

I want to tell her that I will always be there to help when she decides to leave but I cannot play along anymore

In a normal situation I’d definitely say something but given that she lives abroad, she’s probably trying to be economical with her time, fit as many people in as possible. I’d go as far as to say in this circumstance her time is more precious.
As such I’d either suck or up or explain that you’d prefer to see her 1-2-1 every other visit home rather than every trip with the other friend.

God it’s awful isn’t it 😕 I’ve listened to her so many times saying she’s not a fighter, she hates drama, she’s not confrontational…. But all they do is scream at each other!! They fight at home, they fight in the pub, they fight in airports, in public, on holiday…. She runs away from him and he chases her down, he punches walls, they name call…. Then she cries to me that he’s awful and so scary…. And then she goes back to him and I’m supposed to smile and pretend I’m ok with it

It's terrible, no one should be in such a relationship if it's just like that, I guess the only way to really deal with it is tell her either she needs to get out the toxic relationship or you don't want to hear it full stop, we used to tell my aunt that it couldn't be that bad if she was still in it an refused to leave, it hurt her obviously but she needed that push, I hope she manages to be strong enough to leave him before it gets even worse

I think unfortunately, until someone recognises themselves that the relationship is bad, there is nothing that anyone around them can say or do to convince them - it's just something they have to work out on their own. That does however mean that is becomes incredibly draining on the people around them as they have to sit back and watch their loved one/friend etc setting themselves up to be hurt in a toxic situation. I think the best thing you can do is distance yourself, but if and when she recognises the relationship is bad and potentially needs you, just be there. Don't give the "I told you so" attitude, but just encourage them that they're better off out of that situation.

You don't need to cut her off completely if you still think you could be friends after the relationship has ended, but there is no harm in distancing yourself. She may have a light bulb moment that makes her realise that the relationship is causing the relationships with the people closest to her to dwindle.

So I mentioned a while ago that my cat died. I had two and before she died me and the kids were talking about how we wanted a little ginger kitten. We were ready to have three cats. Then my cat died and we didn’t really think about it. My cat that’s been left behind is heartbroken still (understandably) they had been together awhile. The person who I got my two off has some kittens who were ready to go, last week. She’s offered me…..a ginger one. There’s quite a few “signs” pointing to this cat, if you will. However I worry about my other cat. Will she hate having a kitten around? Will it help her maybe? My cat is three so I am not sure how she will be with a small and tiny kitten around.

I am a bit late on this but I'm going through the same thing with my friend atm. We're now at a stage where she only talks to discuss her relationship. I really love her as a friend but honestly I am exhausted.
