I would be honest and say that you received another offer, which you've accepted, thanks for the opportunity... - I wouldn't say, "so sorry to mess you around" either, even if you feel that way, it's better to keep a professional and less personal front!

I agree, it's better to just he honest an let them know that you were actually offered two jobs at the same time and when thinking about it the other job is better suited to yourself so yours sorry to withdraw but you are going to pursue the other one

What a horrible situation. I think just being there for her is probably enough. You don't need to say anything except acknowledgement of how shit it is.
The only other thing I can suggest is more a what not to do. A few years ago one of my children had tests for suspected Lymphoma. The wait for the results was torture. I spent a lot of time on the internet researching. Journals, studies, scientific papers, anything I could set my eyes on. Somebody told me I should stop reading things. Reading things was the only control I had and their comment infuriated me. So I suppose my advice would be let her do what she needs to do, whatever that is. Just be close and ready to listen.

I hated my job, applied for 2, got 2 interviews, got offered both. Happy days. (This was about a month ago)
The one I preferred required 3 references, all with 13 questions each. This took a while to sort out. I'd only had a conditional offer, and I was told after the referencing was all done I'd get a start date. In the meantime I didn't want to reject the other job, because if anything happened I'd be back to square 1.
The other job were aware my manager was on annual leave, but they kept sending emails pushing me to accept the job offer online. She said on Friday if I don't accept by midday they're giving the job to someone else regardless. I panicked and accepted as I was waiting on a message from the job I want.
Today I have had a start date confirmed for my new job at the company I want to work for, I've handed in my notice at the current job and now I just need to tell the other one I won't be starting with them..
Does this sound okay? I wish I didn't have to accept it but it was push push push.

I have a flower bed and gravel driveway.
A cat was using the flower bed as a litter tray so I was clearing it up and tried every trick in the book but nothing worked. Eventually bought some cat scatter spray and followed the instructions and it seemed to stop, until we went away for a week and couldn't keep up the spraying.
We came back to the flower bed literally covered in cat shit.
Cleared it up and started the process with cat scatter again but now it is shitting on the gravel too!!
I am at the end of my tether with it.
I would get one of them things that makes noise but the reviews are all bad. I can't see the cat from my office so I also can't spray it with water or whatever to scare it off.
But I am fed up of the front of my house being covered in shit, any advice appreciated. Thank you.
It helps to give a reason - especially if another role pays more. It can all be useful feedback to the senior bods. Tbh it's really up to you an what the new owners want, first house we sold we took it down before the put sold on it because new owners didn't care for it, second time the new owners wanted the sold sign in the garden as it was first home for them an they wanted a pic holding keys outside it, some company's do prefer to keep it up with its sold on it cause its a good look for them if others see that but really so long as you know its definitely sold then you can do whatever with the sign, some houses round here don't even bother with a sign in the first place now since they know people are going see it online anywayDoes anyone know if you can remove the “for sale” sign from your home when it’s sold subject to contract? I see a lot of houses have theirs changed to “sold stc”. But a house near me has removed the sign completely, but it’s showing as sold stc online. You don’t have to have a sign up at all, so it’s up to you to do as you please. Honestly whenever am given gift vouchers I always see that as money I would never have had in the first place so I usually treat myself with something, unless it was somthing I desperately needed an just couldn't afford it then I don't feel guilty allowing myself to have a treatI need shopping advice!
