Hey I'm mid 30s and I think my dad is abusing me. I could be completely wrong but either way he's making me feel like poo on shoes.

*he is always shouting and swearing at me

*regularly threatening to kick me out of the home

*telling me get a job (unfortunately I recently lost mine as jobs were cut)

*opens my bank statements and loudly asking what I'm spending my money on/telling me off for spending my money

*screaming at me in public

I can't afford to leave but I can't say anything because it makes him worse idk what to do.
Has he always been like that or is it a new thing?

Fed up, like genuinely fed up. My poor son has been waiting 11 weeks for an operation, its scheduled for thursday morning, he has come down with a cold. Im gutted for him, he is 15, he has autism and a CVL line as he had cancer treatment.

I so sad for you and your son. I had to look up CVL - that's serious stuff you've got going on.

Do you have plenty of support around you, those you can talk to? Has the hospital ruled out the surgery not happening...

I spoke to them on Saturday and they said so long as he still has a sore throat he can have the operation x

That’s awful, sorry that’s happening to you. Have you tried setting some boundaries with him, I know it’s easier said than done. Could you avoid going outside with him and letting him know you won’t tolerate being spoken to like that. Hope you’re able to get job and move out

Does anyone know if handyman companies like Task Rabbit would be able to build a bike for me, or is it just general DIY stuff? Or if there are any other companies that would definitely do it?

Can't answer your original question but there might be a local cycle maintenance person in your area.

I hope this isn't too ridiculous of a question, but I need help!

My mum and dad used to go on a few 'beach' holidays a year. But since he passed away three years ago she's really down as she feels like she hasn't got anyone to go with. I'd love to try and book a break away for us in June, but I've never booked a holiday and have no idea where to start!
How do I book flights / hotels / transfers or deals? Sorry, it's really stupid but I've tried Google and it's completely overwhelming. I don't have a massive budget either so don't want to go to a travel agent.
If anyone has any places to point me I'd be really grateful 🙏

There's a holiday thread you should have a look/post on there everyone's very helpful with questions 😄
I've used loveholidays the last two times I've been away and had no issues and using them again for my holiday in a few days. They always come out cheaper than elsewhere

Very boring grown up question. I have a wall in my garden that I painted white last year. After the bad weather it’s now turned green with algae and grime. I can’t jet wash it cos it’ll knock the paint off (I tried) - what can I use to clean it off?

If you book with someone like TUI or jet2 it's a package holiday. So will be flight, hotel and transfers all in one 😊

I turned the power right down on my jetwash and just stood a bit further back from the wall, so it was less pressure in a small area, and it seemed to work ok

I've always used a travel agent, my brother does it on his own but I can't be bothered with the faffing about an personally there's not too much of a price difference where I feel it's worth the stress of doing it alone, so I'd say go to a travel agents an have them put it into a package for you an then it's just one payment

My tips for a travel agent is, take a notepad an go round them all, I will say that they absolutely HATE it but they do try an undercut one another, I've had hundreds taking off a holiday before because they have given me a price an I've been like nope another place is cheaper, so make sure you let them know if another place is cheaper, they are all wanting your sale so make them work for it lol

You can buy a special cleaner that will help remove the green stuff and also prevent it from coming back for a bit. Just look for something against verdigris.
If you have some at home, you can also use sodium carbonate (not baking soda), dissolve 4 or 5 tablespoons in about five liters of warm water and brush the wall with that solution with a stiff brush. You need to wear gloves, it can irritate your skin.
I’ve used both special cleaner and sodium carbonate and both have worked equally well for me.

1 - I don’t really understand what happened
2 - you’re being unreasonable. A house move and a new baby, two of the most important and stressful times in your life. I wouldn’t have even brought up.
3 - it’s disappointing but it happens. I’d explain by dissapointment but give an opportunity to make amends.

How old is your child? Did you need to lie? Would it be a good time to explain that people can be busy or forget or get poorly. That adults make mistakes too but it doesn’t mean they don’t love them or meant to upset them?

I think it’s important to remember your child is ony the centre of your world and no one will ever love your child like you want them to as they have their own lives. You’ll constantly be disappointed if you expect your child to be a priority in anyone’s life but your own sadly.

Last week I went to a new nail lady (mine was relocating). Current lady recommended her but at the point I booked before she moved she did say she didn’t have any clients that had moved over to her yet so wasn’t sure on her work but her instagram looked good. I went to regular lady to have my gel nails soaked off & she mentioned she knew someone that had seen the new lady and her nails had lifted which hadn’t happened with her before. As it was a day & a half before my new appointment I didn’t think it was fair (and I would have most likely been charged cancellation) to cancel so I went ahead.

It’s the same brand of gel, one that I’ve had for the last 5 years so issues. The next day half my thumb gel lifted off. I messaged to let her know and she saw me the next day to fix. I also had a very small chip on my other hand which she sorted. She agreed it was unusual and shouldn’t have happened. Two days later I’ve now got a chip in the thumb that she fixed. I haven’t done anything differently / excessively used my hands since they were done.

Now my dilemma is that when I originally booked her I booked two appointments (have them done every 3 weeks). Given they don’t seem to be lasting and I have another 2 weeks to go before my next appointment should I give her one more go or cancel my appointment now. if I do cancel do I be honest with the reason why. I feel bad as she is really lovely but I can’t afford £40 each time if they don’t last.

If you've not had this problem with your regularly lady, I would message the new lady and be honest - maybe she's recently trained (not trying to excuse her) but I agree £40 for another appt that you could yet again be asking for chips etc to be sorted.

It's hard as she is probably needing to build a client list, and is lovely - but you want gels that are going to last the 3 weeks between appts.

I'm not much help, sorry - I trained in beauty and nails - I didn't do training for gels, as Iike natural, but had I become employed within beauty, I would have wanted clients to be truthful and let me know. It's the only way to keep learning.

Thank you, I agree it’s better to be honest. She’s just posted up her April appointments and the next date I’d need doesn’t have a suitable time. I’m quite limited on day I can do with work/childcare so I think I shall let her know & have another look for someone else.
