Does anyone know any clever tips for making super scuffed/chipped car alloys look a little better? I'm trading my car in so want it to look as good as possible to get the maximum value for it, I now regret all the earlier years of liking to get too close to curbs while parking 😅
I really wouldn't bother tbh, we put a lot of effort in to getting our car ready for trade in and they couldn't have cared less, he actually said 'you should see what our valet guys do, they work wonders', as long as the car is in generally good repair I think you'll be good. Enjoy your new car 🚗 !.

Depends where you are trading it in. Main dealerhsip? They wouldn’t give two people, it’s going straight to auction

Can agree with this, we tried to get ours cleaned up as best we could an tried everything on the alloys an they literally could not have cared less, they didn't even bother going fully round it, just asked if it was working fine, had all its keys an they were working an took it

Thanks all!
I've had a cheap mini valet done to it so at least it was clean for photos, I have pre-warned the dealership that they're scuffed but worry they're worse than people would think. I'll not bother now though ☺

I really need to know what bra size I am, where is the best place to get fitted and has anyone done an online fitting before? Were you happy with the result?

I walked into my local John Lewis and they were great. I told them I’m shy and awkward and they made me feel very comfortable

I'd say try a few places, I went to around 5 an 3 of them were giving me the same size which was close to what I was getting online, one place was way off with measuring me too big an another was slightly too small

Bravissimo are alright or measure yourself using the actual ribcage measurement as the band size, don’t add 4, then calculate the number of inches between that and around your boobs. M&S are notoriously bad for fitting you into what size they sell. Tried telling me I was a really large band with small cup, miles away from my actual size . Useless!

I think (& have been debating for a while) that I need to go back on my antidepressants, which is something I really don't want to do. Any advice to stop me feeling like a failure if I do go back on them?

Why would you be a failure for recognising that you have a chemic imbalance in your brain , and require medication to rebalance it? Would you feel like a failure if you were diabetic and required insulin? That’s how I’d look at it 🙏🏼

If you can't make your own serotonin, store bought is fine.

No fr though, I've been there - thought I should power through, and keep on suffering as not to feel like a failure. Don't fall into that trap - it's a health issue like any other. If you had a broken leg, would you try and power through it? If you had period pain, would you simply suffer it or take a paracetamol? If you had an iron deficiency, would you deny yourself iron tablets?

This is you being on your side, making sure you're doing everything you can to help yourself. This is you, taking care of yourself. Nothing about taking antidepressants has anything to do with failure, no, quite the opposite. This is you recognising your brain needs some help and doing your utmost to provide it.

It’s a cliche quote but it’s ok not to be ok ❤
They don’t mean you’re a failure or you’re weak. It means you’re strong enough to know you need the help.
As the above poster said, you’d take medication for physical issues, this is no different.

Our house went on the market 2 days ago and today we've received a planning notification from the attached house. Bit annoyed as we know them well and they've never said anything about it.

It's for a massive extention.

But do we object or not? I believe there are material grounds and i wouldnt like to live next to itif we're staying. The estate agent said wait and see what people say but we'd loose the time to object if we're not careful.

What would you do??

Get your objections in now. When you sell the buyers will be made aware of it and might be put off

Definitely object now, the last thing people will want when looking to buy is a building site next door, our neighbours are having one done across the road from us an so far it's taken 2 months an still looks no where near done, it's also been a pain with the work vans parking all over the place, the noise an the mess, I certainly wouldn't be moving in next door if I knew that was going to happen, an people that are moving usually have a few options so keep objecting till it's sold an let the new buyers fight it out, the neighbors will just keep putting in more permission but hopefully you will be gone before it's accepted

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. A new owner of our house would possibly want to get work done here so its possibly something they could combine but I don't know if it's worth the risk.

So I've finally decided to try find a therapist for some help with some lack of motivation/self esteem issues I have - I have a free intro call with one soon and it's just a 30 min chat to see what's what and if I'd like to book with her services but I'm so nervous? I don't really know what to say and how to really sum up what I want help with...
Does anyone have any insights as to how these introductory calls usually go?

I work at a private therapy, totally get why you are nervous but really nothing to be nervous about, your therapist will know this an will also know the exact things to ask an say, usually our first chats go about the same, you get asked your details, name, age, address, married/single, kids etc, this is to basically build your file, ours files also have a set amount of questions as well, sometimes it can feel a bit personal but with us everyone gets asked the same questions, usually it's have you ever had therapy before, what's the reason for it, what are your goals with coming, your hobby's etc

Everyone is different, sometimes our therapists will talk a bit more on whatever as with someone else talking it can be easier to join in or they will let you just unload if you need too, you'd be surprised with how many say they aren't sure because they don't know what to talk about an then they end up talking a ton, so wouldn't worry about it

One of the things we do mention as well is don't feel bad if you don't feel like you are comfortable/getting on with the therapist, we have a few at ours an all have totally different personalities/vibes an feel different to be around, all are lovely but even myself I will open up more to certain ones or joke about with certain ones, it's important that you sort of bond with your therapist as if you don't feel comfortable or happy then you aren't going to naturally open up an will withhold a lot, it's hard to tell on a phone call but if you don't instantly feel at peace (not the nervous kind) when going in to see them then let then know, a good therapist understands everyone has to go with who they feel are right for them
