Thanks, I know it is hard to stay calm in all this an he is doing better than I am cause I just want to go in there, we are going get him to citizens advice this week as well an see what they can do for us, right now we have to wait on the notes from the meeting coming back to us, he wasn't handed the notes on the day as they said it needed typed up then given which I didn't think was fair as we don't know if they will change anything, it will probably be monday now before we get the notes an it was Thursday his meeting
I don't believe it is a requirement for the investigation meeting notes to be provided at the end of the interview. The ACAS guide on investigation meetings says that at the end of the interview the interviewer should "explain that the interviewee will be provided shortly with a copy of their witness statement for them to check and confirm that it is accurate".

By all means contact Citizens Advice for support. What I can say is that I work for Citizens Advice and if your Dad was coming to me at this stage I'd say that he needs to wait for the outcome of the investigation. There's nothing more that he needs to do at this stage. I'd also be suggesting he reads the information on our website and the ACAS website (there is a lot!).

This link is to the first page of the CAB advice, notice the following pages are linked on the right-hand side:

Some of the ACAS advice is written from the point of view of advising the employer what they should do:

Simply Be Corset jeans. They pull you in, adjustable waist so they're not gaping everywhere, genuinely life changing stuff!!!

I got some F&F and Primark ones first (I didn't want to spend much as they'd be temporary, or so I thought) they were pretty good for like £12-14. H&M do some nice ones for just £30 and A&F do a nice Mom jean but I never bought them so no sure how they fit and wash out of the changing room. I didn't find more expensive = better beyond that.
I really believe you start to see changes in your body at about 9-12 months PP though. I've seen it on a lot of people as well as myself.

I own so many pairs of Jamie jeans! They are brilliant and much better than the Joni which don't seem to have an appropriate number of pockets. The petite are an excellent length as well which is so rare these days... Next I'm looking at you with your ludicrously long petite trousers 👀.

How many interviews would people do for a very entry level position that only requires GCSE grades?

I’ve currently had an interview and a short assessment (which seemed like a completely new thing for them and was honestly very silly) and it sounds like they’re planning to invite me for another interview

I’m not sure if I’m overreacting by thinking it’s all a bit silly at this point, especially as they originally rejected me and then invited me back when they put the same advert back up - so I assume there’s a chance I’ll be competing with new applicants anyway. I currently have a job and attending these 30 minute interviews isn’t ideal 😅

It seems about the norm, I've recruited for a similar position recently and HR wanted us to interview twice + short assessment. I can't stand it - we know it's annoying for you, even more so than it is annoying for us :(

At that level it will largely be about personality being a good fit and ensuring someone is worth the investment. You don’t want them leaving after you’ve spent time and money to train them.
There will be plenty of applicants and you can’t pick based on skills, experience or qualifications so it has to come down to the person and that takes time. It seems backwards but it’s easier to recruit at higher levels.
I’d say an assessment and 2 interviews is to be expected, anything more would ring alarm bells that they’re looking for more than they’re wanting to pay for, trying to find a unicorn.

That should not take 2 interviews and an assessment, no way, 1 interview and a test will suffice. I work in HR and there is absolutely no need for more than one interview at entry level.

Generally just been 1 interview for entry level roles wherever I've worked, with maybe a very basic IT type assessment - so I'd say that's excessive!

Also in my experience if they put the job (or similar) out again, my workplaces haven't asked previous interviewees to interview again within a certain time period (e.g. 6 months) and an informal chat would suffice! I know some places can be more rigid with recruitment though 💀

I will be attending in two weeks and I ordered a beautiful cash gift envelope (more like a velvet box) personalized with the couple’s names.

The issue is that the envelope won’t be arriving until after the wedding and I feel uncomfortable going to the wedding empty handed.

It’s an Irish wedding (my first) and I don’t know the etiquette. Any advice?

Not sure about Irish wedding specifically but I'd probably get them a card in which I'd say something like sorry my gift has been delayed, best wishes for now and I'll get your gift to you asap' in nicer words obv 😅

Could that work and then not actually send a gift. Asking for a friend of course 👀.

Said friend is going to husbands cousins wedding in June. Never met them and will never ever see them again 👀🤷🏻‍♀️🤣

I brought a car last year and have driven it for the past year. My car insurance is due for renewal and when looking at quotes it had accidentally been clicked that I brought this car in February 2024. I went to change it to the correct information February 2023 and it bumped my premium up by a couple of hundred pounds! Shouldn’t it be lower since I’ve been driving the car longer? Because the age of the car hasn’t changed on the quote. It’s so expensive

They might think you'll be more cautious if you've just bought the car .
