@TheGlossy I would phone customer services and ask for the charge to be refunded as they haven't even despatched it.

Did you pay by credit card? You may have some come back through them if they haven't supplied what you paid for ie quick despatch.

I won’t lie to you it’s not pleasant. But I found the laxatives you have to take beforehand far worse than the actual procedure. The laxatives mix with squash it’s much easier to get down than in water & I rolled reduce remedy on my pulse points to try relax me and it helped. I just layed there with my eyes shut and tried thinking of other things. It wasn’t painful just felt uncomfortable and it hurt a little when the took a biopsy but other than that it was ok. I opted for sedation and think it definitely helped. Good luck ❤
Thank you for this. Is there anything you can compare the level of pain to? I really don't do well with pain

What does the prep taste like?

I’d say the uncomfortable feeling was kinda like a smear test. Like it didn’t hurt but just didn’t feel comfortable but the pain from the biopsy was like a sharp scratch a few times, maybe like a cat scratch type pain if that makes sense? But it was over with within a few seconds as they take biopsy quickly.

I can’t even describe the taste of the prep but my god it was 🤮 was like bitty water but tasted really weird. Kinda had a yeasty taste to it. Like when you open vitamin b tablets and they smell yeasty it reminded me of that 😂 I think it was supposed to be flavoured but it definitely wasn’t. But I added some blackcurrant squash and it was more bearable. A hot water bottle helped too as I had crampy pains after taking the prep

I rang them today and they said they couldn’t handle my call because they’re undergoing maintenance (whatever this means).

The package is still nowhere to be seen.

Anyone here had a colonoscopy?

Been referred for one and just had a phone call with a colorectal nurse and I'll get one in the next two weeks

Any advice regarding the procedure would be very much appreciated
A couple of things not from own experience but Mr Lolz and his sister.
If you’ve had a hysterectomy it’s going to be more painful.
Insist on local anaesthetic as they often won’t offer it. But Mr Lolz insist as he finds it too painfull without, mind you he has ulcerative colitis so his guts are filled with ulcers

I’ve ordered from them before. They’re part of Net a Porter, but this is definitely red flag galore.
I always pay with paypal when I order from Net a Porter, I’ve had an issue before and opened a paypal dispute which they didn’t even bother with so PP refunded me.

Not really a problem but just after some advice from people who’s had a flu vaccine.
I’m not entitled to one but have paid to get one from Boots. I was supposed to have it today but my anxiet got the better of me and I postponed it.

I’m concerned about having a bad reaction. I had the first Covid vaccine in the morning and that evening I had a fever, which was fine but then I started having a really bad racing heart. Like it wouldn’t stop for a couple of hours. This concerned me because there is heart problems in the family.

So my question is really what is the likely hood of having this reaction with a flu vaccine? I couldn’t really find any info online. And is it a symptom to worry about?

Very very very slim chance of having that reaction. I have 2 different heart problems and I get the flu Jab on the nhs every year due to health issues and ive never had any reaction. I had my jab early October and been fine since, arm felt a bit achey for a few hours which is normal but other than that I felt completely normal. The covid jab is different and a lot stronger than the flu one and loads of people reacted to it including myself but from personal experience the flu is fine. I’ve not known anyone react to it. Hope your anxiety gets better for you x

Thank you, you were the perfect person to answer this for me.
I’m not too bothered about having a reaction but that heart racing was weird and made me anxious.
Will go into my vaccine with zero worries now 😊

Perfect so glad I could help you ❤ completely get the anxiety though I have atrial flutter and whenever my heart skips a beat or suddenly races it really panics me!

Do you have a watch with a heart monitor on it? I find having mine helps calm me back down, whenever I feel like mines is going crazy I look an it's not actually going as fast as I feel like it is, when am anxious it only gets up to around 120bpm which is quite normal when the anxieties kick in

Husband has got AF and atrial flutter - he had surgery last year at bristol heart institute, catheter ablation. They only found the flutter when he was under but treated it at the same time. He's fine with the flu jab but the Covid one knocked him sideways so he's only had the 1st two and no boosters.

He was recommended to get an Apple watch by the cardiologist and it's been really useful in terms of sending ECG's over to them. His heart rate is much more stable now but he still gets the random 120-130 ones if he's stressed. The watch helps him be more mindful, I think, that he needs to take a deep breath every now and then and calm down.

Does he do 7/11 breathing? I found that really helpful with my atrial flutter to stop me getting into a panic and making the heart rate worse. I’m the same as him. Been offered 2 boosters but declined due to the bad effects I had from the first 2 covid jabs x

Has anyone ever missed an item on self-scan checkout? I used the hand scanner in Sainsbury's and forgot one item (a pack of magnums if it makes a difference) in a shop of about 15 items. I got picked for a control check and it appeared. The woman didn't give a hoot. It happened once to me before about 2 years ago, a pack of bread mix in a huge store cupboard shop.

My anxiety has me thinking I'm going to be banned from the store - someone talk sense into me!!!

I haven’t, but my brother did and they got him to redo his shopping on a normal till.
Don’t worry about it, it’s gonna happen it’s a simple mistake. If shops were that worried they’ll stop doing it :)

I have noticed though shops are more strict with bags, either scanning for you or watching you scan!!

Once or twice in a big shop. I’ve also accidentally scanned things more than once and only noticed when it’s all come up on the screen at the end or checking the receipt later so I think it balances.
Staff don’t care, they’re just there to do their job, they’re not flagging you or something.

Besides, these stores have figured out the losses from theft or unintentional not scanning are
Worth less than the cost of employing the checkout staff. They’re still quids in.

I've had it happen a couple of times. Sometimes you think you've scanned it because it beeps but it doesn't register. Don't stress. They know when people are actually trying to steal. It'll be fine 🙂.
