Definition of the phrase misery loves company.
Miserable people look for other miserable people so they can wallow together, they don’t want to improve and revel in the negativity. If you try to share positivity to bring them up they will look elsewhere because they are comfortable in their misery and only want/need others the same to justify their own behaviour.

It’s the same with most negative behaviours, bitching, gossiping, substance abuse, laziness… If you shut them down they’ll give up with you and go and find someone else who’ll be on board to make their own behaviour feel acceptable.

Anyone had steroid injection in shoulder? Is it painful
I have them in my hip which I assume is probably a similar process. I don't find the injection itself too bad but it does hurt as the day goes on and the numbing agent wears off. It's sore for a couple of days after as well but easily sorted by over the counter pain relief.

Woah you've put up with alot from this woman. You were nice to offer her company but she's taken it too far by sucking up all your time. Try to ignore the comments she made to the friend - I reckon she's either one of those people who lie/exaggerate or maybe she wanted a rise out of you by screenshotting them and sending to you. Or she's completely not self aware. Either way sound like she's adding nothing good to your life and I'd phase her out - especially as she's moved away. Lovely of you to take on the cat and give it more the bare minimum care she was giving.

So we have had a letter through the door from some random company about flood defences, it's to be filled in but am not comfortable giving the details they want, what they want to know is

Who owns the house
How much it was bought for
If it's paid off or how much the mortgage is
Jobs an salaries
How long a day we are in the house
What we pay in bills

Is this legal to ask these things? I don't know who this company is or why they want to know this, they are nothing to do with the housing estate, it's just some random company, they also haven't told us anything about what flood defenses they are doing like what they are putting up or where

It said if we didn't fill it out they could show up at our door an fine us for it or face imprisonment, is this a way to scare us into filling this out?

Sounds a lot like a scam. Have you googled the company name?

Not yet, it got put at the bottom of the mail pile, but I don't know if they will be using one of those fake websites with fake reviews about it, somtimes things online can seem legit when they are not

Of course but you can see if it's registered and what it's registered as, if anyone else has reported it, that's more what I meant. It's a very serious scam if it is one, Id report it to the police. There's no reason a flood defence company needs that kind of information. How much do you earn and how many hours are you home a day are a massive red flag!!

Check if it’s a Government questionnaire. You can get fined for not filling those in. It should have a legit number on there that reference it back.

Sounds dodgy to me.
Question 10:
How long you in the house for so I can break in

I'll have a look for that thanks, it didn't look like it was government related but I didn't look to see if there was a ref number on it, it just looked like a standard letter asking for questions

Sounds dodgy to me.

Yeah that's what I don't like as well as work places, like surely that's no one's business

And if the government needs to know where you work and what you earn, they’d ask for national insurance number. They have land registry for how much your house cost and if there’s a mortgage too. With a name and DOB they pretty much have all this info without you providing it.

I’m a bit annoyed at the moment because the management company of my complex has decided to remove all intercoms. This means that whenever I get deliveries, drivers need to ring me and have to go all the way to the entrance gate to get my packages. There’s no reception either.

I’m now experiencing repeated issues with UPS who told me drivers aren’t allowed to ring recipients on the phone during delivery. This has caused many of my deliveries to fail and be returned to sender (costing me money and time). This is a new rule because UPS drivers always rang me before.

I’m now honestly about to lose my mind because this means I would have to avoid all online merchants because most use UPS. I tried to escalate the issue to UPS to no avail. I’ve now one package returned to sender awaiting refund and another one stuck with UPS because of this. I paid about €20 in delivery fees for both and can’t be delivered. It’s a pure rip off. I’ve no clue what to do or how to raise a formal complaint?

Can’t you have it delivered somewhere else? Like a shop for pick up?

Honestly, if I’m paying a hefty delivery fee, it’s not to inconvenience myself even more by having to commute 30 minutes away from where I live to pick up my packages. I don’t have a car, so that means I also have to add transportation costs to the fee. I’m not doing that.

It’s not my responsibility to do UPS’s job when I’m paying a full blown delivery fee.

There’s a reason they don’t want their employees having people’s phone numbers.
But fair enough if that doesn’t work for you, then I guess you’ll just need to do without

Speak to the management company about installing a lockable parcel box?

Reactions: 1
A very annoying situation but you will have to come up with a solution if the parcels can’t come to you, you will have to get them another way whether that’s buying in a shop (not ideal, expensive, still probably out of the way) or parcel pick up shop.

30 mins to your nearest parcel pick up? Really?

This is what made me think it's maybe not a government thing, no one else in town has gotten it, it's specifically only our estate which is no where near the biggest in town plus the other side of the park to us which I'd say was more a risk of flooding hasn't had anything either, there's nothing on it asking for a national insurance, am just going leave it an assume this is some sort of data scam an they are trying to fish for details

Have you tried looking on local Facebook groups or Next Door to see if anyone else is discussing?

The freezer has been left ajar , probably overnight , would you still eat the food inside.?
It's still pretty cold, but not the temp it runs at and some of the food is still firm .
