Looks like she got WC for ladies doubles with Katie, so at least that’s something. I was wondering too whether she was particularly upset as maybe she felt this could be her last chance with singles, but that’s pure speculation on my part.
I think she was just disappointed. Her match yesterday was a physical and emotional rollercoaster and it was absolutely blistering hot. She was so thrilled yesterday to win but I think she just ran out of steam today.
She is the loveliest person, after her win yesterday she stayed for ages to take numerous selfies with spectators and give everyone a bit of her time.
It'll be a sad day when she hangs up her racket.
I usually dislike the way some of our tennis players get bounced into a media job or tournament directorship but I'll make an exception for Heather. Keep her in British Tennis, she's a gem.
ETA I was at qualifying yesterday and today and I can highly recommend it. I almost prefer it to the actual tournament.
