Last time ever of having Andrew cunting Castle ruining the tennis with his utterly shite commentary. I'm having a stiff Pimm's™ to celebrate.

On my way to Wimby. Wish me luck, I’m already roasting, so I’m probably going to resemble a chargrilled chicken breast later on 🥵

Well, what a day!
It won’t let me post photos 🤦🏻‍♀️
I was sat courtside, right in the centre, opposite the umpire. It was roasting 🥵
The stewards were bloody brilliant, one woman in particular was fanning the crowd and others handing out ice. They were all lovely and quickly helped a lady who became unwell during the men’s doubles (thankfully she was well enough to return for the women’s final).
The men’s doubles was great, I’ve never been to a doubles match so it was great to experience and also fab to see a Brit win.
The women’s match started and was resembling last years final but Muchova pulled it together in the second set and the atmosphere was brilliant. It was very different being right by the action and I can really appreciate the power in the serves! Some fab rally’s in there too.
Gutted for Karolina but Linda did deserve the win.

Also, Kate is absolutely stunning!

Shattered now but trying to stay awake for the end of the football 🤣

Musetti has withdrawn from Wimbledon, so Berrettini is into the main draw.

I really hope Novak wins the championship now. I'm not a big fan of his but he is definitely the lesser of 3 evils and has mellowed hugely in recent years.

It was always going to be a tough match for Fery. The height and power difference, Fery did brilliantly to play to his own strengths and win points against the disgusting cowardly wife beater.

Lovely words from Dan to say goodbye to his playing career

Great Britain's Dan Evans, speaking on court 15 after his career ended with defeat in the men's doubles: "It was amazing. Sometimes you take this tournament for granted when you're in the midst of your career and you're trying to get better and better.
"I said last night to my agent that I've really enjoyed just walking around, taking it all in and watching some of the other Brits and this week. It has been sort of fitting that I didn't really have to do too much so I could take it in.
"I'm all good. It is just emotional, isn't it? You just think of your family and all of the sacrifices that we've made. You live out your dreams here, don't you? This tournament is what I grew up watching. I remember getting home from school and watching Wimbledon, and I was one of the lucky few that got to play here in the end.
"Everything was worth it in the end. For anybody thinking twice about putting the effort in, I can tell you it is worth it. It hasn't been as bad as sometimes we think it is.
"I've enjoyed every minute that I've played on these courts."

Thought I'd start a new thread.
It's everyone's favourite time of year - grass court season!
Katie & Emma had great runs at Queen's last week, 💪
Andrew Castle has been given the heave-ho by the Beeb after this year's Wimbledon. 🎉
Will Dan Evans get one of the remaining wild cards for Wimbledon? 🤞
How will Wimbledon be without Carlos?

Why does this not shock me.

Hes a talented player but always gave the impression he absolutely hated tennis.
he had all the potential in the world (and was also a surprisingly articulate commentator when he did that brief run on the bbc a year or so back!) but is absolutely his own worst enemy.

i really wonder how he’s going to look back on his career/life in the end. it could have all been so different if he wasn’t such a prat 🫠
