What’s the deal with this Temu game everyone is doing?! Seems like a scam
Everyone I know that has done it has always been 1 point away from winning, definitely a data fishing scam
---
Anyone else finding temu has really hiked their prices up lately its definitely getting more expensive now Its getting really popular alot of things now aren't really much cheaper than ebay
I’ve never used it but a friend git me to download it and dresses were about £20… if im paying that price I’d go to a proper shop. The cheap prices seems to be more kids clothes and accessories

I saw a youtube video where she found the exact same items on Shein, Temu and Wish, then ordered them and compared them. I think it’s the same stuff from the same factories but different production runs? Let me find that video…
Yeah this is one of the ones I watched! It was so odd that there were differences, I expected them all to be the same tbh

I ordered from Temu for the first time and theoretically the items should have been great but the packaging is so insufficient that half of it was broken. They don't bother to protect the items when they ship them 😞 just shove them in a bag and send them off on their merry way. I got a refund on one item at least and it was quite easy to do, I did not even have to return anything.

On the subject of design copying I admit I find it frustrating trying to figure out what's "real" anymore. For example, I love washi tape. I go on Etsy and I see cute washi tape for X amount and then I see the exact thing on Alliexpress and it's half the price and clearly the same. Similarly I found a website selling cute claw clips and then found the same designs on Temu for half the price. I just see similar items popping up on different sites and different prices and I find it so hard to even tell what's the real source or if there even is one you know? So I end up just buying the cheapest because I look at the curated shop or Etsy store and I just think - why pay the middleman if it's not theirs? But I guess it could technically be theirs it's just so hard to tell. Everything seems to be coming from the same factory in China!
The images on some products are most definitely stolen! I’ve seen things with the brand name of the product on it and then it some the brand names are been photoshopped out but it’s 100% the same thing as it’s the same photo that the company have used to advertise the product way before Temu came along. What product you would actually recive is a different matter though, would you receive a good copy or a cheap nasty product that looks nothing like picture.

I kept getting ads saying I could get some clothes items for 60p 😂 I got curious and downloaded the app just now and the items I wanted are all about 10-15 quid, the spinny wheel of fortune thing is nowhere to be seen 😂

Yes...
I bought a pair of ankle gumboots for NZ$8 (special deal, including free shipping - which arrived in 4 working days) ... they are amazing! Sizing is perfect; they're well-made. I've seen the same ones in Kmart for NZ$27.

Wonder if it’s a way of harvesting data? People apparently have to share the link to friends and use their email address and mobile number to sign up as well.

I have ordered things from temu and they are most certainly very cheap crap, some things have broken very easily and all in all definitely not worth the cost imo.

I love the ads. Amongst the hamster flip flops and cat wigs. These were 2 items I had suggested when browsing last night...

The dolls have seen something they won't forget and a nice cuddly Jesus. Can't think of what else I'd browsed to be offered Jesus as a recommendation.
The Daisy doll looks like she's doing a Queen Victoria cosplay, and Rosalina looks more like Cloud from Final Fantasy 7 in that scene where he wears a dress.

Just realised I hadn’t reported back

With Temu you get what you pay for and expect

…. aka it’s shite 💩

I was lured by a spinning discount wheel so got a huge discount off.
What arrived was pure tat apart from one top.
food bags a quarter of the size advertised, kitchen gadgets that fall apart after one use.

Because of the discount I couldn’t be arsed sending back - just carried it all round to the nearest charity shop and vowed never again!
They're good at returns/refunds I've found. Just refunded me on a dress and said could keep it

I ordered my little one a few bits on there last year, some clothes, hairbands and some safe toys and silicone weaning bits. The sizing on the clothes was way off but the quality was good and I was pleased with the other things I bought. I’ve noticed a lot of online baby boutiques on Facebook and Instagram and some Etsy shops sell Temu stock as boutique items. Like a little dungaree set I bought for about £4.50 is for sale at £19.95. The hairbands are less than a pound each but they all sell them for £4.95+ It’s shocking really as if I’d never been on Temu I would have been misled in to buying these things!

Someone upthread mentioned Amazon - I found some Halloween outfits I liked on Temu and they were literally £2 more on Amazon with Prime delivery so its always worth checking.
I’ve see things on Ali express that are being sold by independent boutiques in the uk for 3 times the price. Not sure who is stealing whose image. Obviously going to go with the cheaper option 🫣

Anyone know anything about Ali express. Want to buy my niece some clothes and the price says it’s before tax. Does anyone know anything about how it works? Do you pay customs on top? Thank you.

I’ve bought a cheap dress for my niece, don’t expect it to be brill quality. She can wear it for nursery if it’s crap 🤣 I got her hair slides and I got myself odd bits for myself like a new hair catcher for the shower plug

Did you have to give a reason why you wanted to return it?
Just had a tick box, think I chose quality but I didn't have to actually return it

Yeah I didn't do it in the end, didn't have enough clicks lol. In hindsight a good thing I suppose. Seen some people rinsing them for thousands though.

Looks like more china tat to me. Probably some decent things but it's another Ali Express/ Wish style set up and the adverts are irritating.

I bought my niece a dress from Boden last year. I’m new to Temu and was scrolling on it yesterday and they were selling the same dress (judging by the pics!!) I was gobsmacked. I even used a photo of the dress I actually bought and Google lense-d it and Temu came up as a result!

I’ve ordered some bits and bats. Am I going to be disappointed?

Have you seen the videos about this??? It's a data fishing scam. You're signing away so much of your personal information for £50 you're likely not going to get.

Should also be noted that they are currently in a lawsuit for their data privacy practices:
