It's a no from me as I've seen a number of cases of them ripping off small business owner's unique designs, and selling them for so cheap that of course no one is going to buy the legit item from the original creator. I can't stand businesses that work on a theft model so I won't be giving them any of my money.
TEMU have ruined my small business.
They have taken my high quality images from other well known websites in the UK and ripped off the designs selling them for peanuts.
I have been selling these items for nearly ten years and now I’m facing a financial nightmare.

I’m on medication, and I think really this will be detrimental on my whole future and that if my family.

Not only have they stolen my products they have stolen my images so my face body and hands are all over TEMU - as they are in China they don’t care about Intellectual Property so despite numerous requests to take them down and proof of my Trademark - they refuse.

I'm glad this thread exists. I'm very intrigued by sort of the ads I'm getting. Things that I have no need for but I just want. Like:

I also want this next one for more practical reasons, it also looks quite therapeutic

Also, does anyone just keep getting the ad for the Tardigrade plushie?

Just from the sheer bombardment of advertising Temu has been inflicting on us, at the moment it's a no from me.

(I do reserve the right to change my mind in the future however!!!)

My friend who was constantly posting about temu games on fb claims to have won a robot vacuum on it. I really want her to do a review, it must be crap 😂

Also today's stupid ad for tax. I like that they have 2 identical items at different prices as well

I really hate that Etsy is now full of things drop-shipped from AliExpress and Temu, at a vast markup, whilst claiming to be hand-made.

If I see something I like on there I always search the image with Google Lens to see if it turns up on one of the Chinese-based marketplaces.

Couldn't find a thread only a few passing comments here and there

I had a look at the website to see what all the fuss was about not intending to order but I came across an item I wanted that was a quarter of the price it was listed as on ebay so I thought why not, so I ordered it along with two other inexpensive items.
Came today after about a week since ordering and I was quite impressed over all the item I wanted originally from ebay was exactly the same one of the items was slightly damaged but I think that happened in shipping as it arrived in a bag not a box and can be fixed it was under a pound so probably wouldn't of bothered sending back anyway.
I have placed another order (beauty items) to see what they are like.
I have seen people saying it's all cheap crap and they wouldn't order which I guess some things are like wish but I was genuinely pleased with what I received.
So has anybody ordered? And what did you think?
I wouldn’t order there. Iffy reputation in terms of data security, and they use lots of little hidden outsourced suppliers, most of whom are basically slave labour. They also copy products from artists and small businesses….The ads are also really intrusive and irritating.

Placed my first order (then 2 more...had a 50% off £30+ orders x 3 😆). All dispatched. 2 awaiting their flight lol one just saying shipped.

Lets see what arrives.

I needed none of it. NONE OF IT 😆 kept getting lured in like ooh that's handy, ooh that'll be good. Bet I use none of it pahahaha.

I’ve see things on Ali express that are being sold by independent boutiques in the uk for 3 times the price. Not sure who is stealing whose image. Obviously going to go with the cheaper option 🫣
It goes both ways and I think this is the problem. AliExpress steal designs from small businesses and artists. I've seen this happen to people I follow. But then Facebook Huns are all about buying crap from china in bulk and selling it on their "small business" page as if they designed and manufactured it themselves and you're doing a good deed by paying them twice the price. 🥴

The SHOP LIKE A BILLIONAIRRRRREEEEE, TEEEEEMUUUUU TEEEMMMUUUUUU SHOP LIKE A BIOLLIONNAIRRE and then the creepy multiple voices whispering, creeps me out, I cannot lie. That advert almost sounds demonic.

The prices I’ve seen on adverts seem ridiculously low that I can’t help but think factory workers are being exploited. How can they sell a backpack for £1.50, etc.

The advert gives me the ick for humanity. Saying this as someone who uses AliExpress for a few specific things. 😶

I’ve heard that people have noticed fraudulent activity using their bank details after using Temu so for that reason I would avoid.

I bought my niece a dress from Boden last year. I’m new to Temu and was scrolling on it yesterday and they were selling the same dress (judging by the pics!!) I was gobsmacked. I even used a photo of the dress I actually bought and Google lense-d it and Temu came up as a result!

I’ve ordered some bits and bats. Am I going to be disappointed?

It's going to come back to bite them because they've been ripping off so many small businesses and stealing their ideas and creativity, but their quality is dirt cheap and very fast factory-based. It's basically just a replica. I hope they crash and burn and get what's coming to them, I don't even like the fact their whole website operates on the urgency of 'grab it while you can/stock lasts' tactic to get their sales coming through non-stop. I think it's disgusting so many youtubers are doing small hauls buying cheap crap from the company and saying how good it is when it's clearly not and they don't realise how it's affecting legit business owner's livelihoods around the world.

Trouble is they are renowned for stealing images from legit stores and sellers. They don't give a shit about copyright and unfortunately there is often a load of crap sent that beara no resemblance to what is advertised. Sadly it is meaning that legit traders cannot compete with their illegal and immoral actions

I'm sure I read as China is classed as an "emerging economy" they benefit from paying next to nothing on fees to post here and the recipient country has to cover them instead... so on principle its a hard no from me!

Plus I already have a house full of shit I don't need so definitely don't want more stuff for the sake of it!

It just feels like it's gonna be another Wish type website? Not sure, haven't properly looked. But that cheap items, dodgy quality, longish shipping times.

But I am also absolutely pig sick of the relentless YouTube adverts for it.
