My husband’s just gone out in this crazy weather - his grandmother is on palliative care at the hospital local to us and he’s been with her pretty much the whole time since yesterday morning (except when he came home to sleep last night). Other family members live too far away to risk driving in it. We’re in a red zone and I’m so nervous about him driving in it but there’s no other way, he has to be there of course. I can’t wait until it passes, it’s really scary. 😞
Horrible position to be in ❤

I'm glasgow way and it's wild no trees down here but i don't think it'll be too long before there is. I've seen on Facebook a lot of people near me have trees down and power cuts

My power has been off since 11am and they’ve not expecting it to be back on till 7pm. On the plus side I get out of wfh & should be able to watch the traitors at 9 😅

I'm in the eye of the storm in centre Scotland.
Very windy 85+ winds.
Still have power 🤞🤞
Stay safe everyone x

I’m between Dundee & Aberdeen, there’s a tree down on the road into our village and had to run out and stop the BBQ being blown into the greenhouse, hoping that’s as dramatic as it gets. Very glad to not have to drive to work today.

This is the worst weather I've ever seen, a small bit of the facia on our roof has blown off.
Cannot wait for this to end.
HGV's have been blown over, all over the place.
I've had BBC Radio Scotland radio on all morning & their 92.7fm frequency went off.

Same here, I’ve seen tiles falling off roofs and my neighbours fences/sheds collapsing 🙈

Luckily we still have power too. Stay safe and indoors if you can everyone 🙏🏻

Pleased to have somewhere to chat about this without derailing other threads. I’m west of Scotland in the red zone. Lights flickering all day. I’ve got candles already lit in case we lose power because it’s dark here in a couple of hours. I got a new roof last year so fingers crossed it’ll be ok but I couldn’t afford the extra to replace the gutters so if they come down I won’t be mad about it.

Dog is terrified and tit on the floor this morning. We’ll probably have another accident before the day is through.

It's wild out there. Also realised how bad the draught is in my house - have a draught excluder on my front door but nothing on my back door and the door from my living room in to the kitchen keeps moving with the wind coming from the back door. Know we have had a few trees and lamposts down in the wider area but most people still seem to have power.

West of Scotland red area for me too...lights been flickering a lot but thankfully power still on! 🤞🏻
Our back garden fence looks like it's hanging on by a prayer! 🙈 it was wonky anyway so it's a miracle it's lasted the last few storms!
Loads of trees out our front, few big branches down but they're all still standing so far!

Hope everyone is safe and taking care! It's some scary biscuits 😳

My power is still on but as expected, part of my fence has blown over.

I had to take my dad to an appointment and could feel my car shaking when I was driving. Thankfully he’s only 5-10 mins away from the hospital.

We are sitting watching the rubbish flying everywhere but it's the neighbours 40+ foot fence { council house } that is now rocking back & forward that is a worry as it's on a public lane.

Our neighbour has that artificial grass & it's unravelling with the wind

My neighbourhood WhatsApp group has been pinging all day - flashing flying off roofs, big branches down, garages and sheds destroyed. Most recent is a neighbour a few doors up saying a big tree outside his house is on the verge of coming down - he's phoned emergency services but it's just to warn us.

My question is, about the dog! I thought it would have died down by now but I'm actually scared to go outside with him, but he needs out. What to do?

Red warnings in place until 5 but even at that its only going to amber or yellow so will still be wild plus could still be dangerous as structures will be damaged and weakened.
I'd just hold off as long as you can. Short walks and keep the dog on their lead
