In the red area. Transport cancelled, school cancelled, bins cancelled and local Tesco has been ransacked 🤣 oh and a rather nice alert on the phones that scared the bejesus out of folk! Been red alert since 10am but phones pinged about 5:45pm so if there was a nuke we’d be deed well before the alert 🫣 stay safe everyone - we survived hurricane bawbag, we can survive this 🌪

I cannot wait for the trampoline videos 🤣

My husband’s just gone out in this crazy weather - his grandmother is on palliative care at the hospital local to us and he’s been with her pretty much the whole time since yesterday morning (except when he came home to sleep last night). Other family members live too far away to risk driving in it. We’re in a red zone and I’m so nervous about him driving in it but there’s no other way, he has to be there of course. I can’t wait until it passes, it’s really scary. 😞

The storm has settled here now, just rain.

My husband’s grandmother passed early this morning. He was with her in the hospital and it was peaceful 💔

Good luck to all those in the red warning area. I hope the storm passes with no damage to your homes and local areas.

I'm in a yellow area but close to the amber area. It's currently very calm here at the moment "calm before the storm"

Will see what happens over the next 18 hours or so!

I’m in a red weather warning area. Working from home tomorrow (hoping the wifi goes off so I get the day off!)

The longest I remember loosing power for was 3 days and that was years ago. I’ve charged all the lamps, portable phone chargers & my switch 😂all the essentials.

I’ve just had an email about Tesco closing and all deliveries cancelled. That must have really pained them to make that decision. Glad for the staff hope they don’t lose out though.

My power has been off since 11am and they’ve not expecting it to be back on till 7pm. On the plus side I get out of wfh & should be able to watch the traitors at 9 😅

We've made sure torches are easy to grab, phones and devices charged. Work is cancelled as are schools so a day at home for us all.

We do lose power in situations like this so are prepared.

Hoping it passes for everyone with minimal disruption and no injuries.

Well that’s the lights out lads 😭 sitting like a spanner with my wee candles, the street is all out. Hopefully we’ll get it back soon

Pleased to have somewhere to chat about this without derailing other threads. I’m west of Scotland in the red zone. Lights flickering all day. I’ve got candles already lit in case we lose power because it’s dark here in a couple of hours. I got a new roof last year so fingers crossed it’ll be ok but I couldn’t afford the extra to replace the gutters so if they come down I won’t be mad about it.

Dog is terrified and shit on the floor this morning. We’ll probably have another accident before the day is through.

I don’t know how many times I have had to think what day it is.
Certainly doesn’t feel like my usual Fridays. 🙈

Shed’s in bits, 3 fences down did manage to move the cars so avoided them getting damaged. Think we might have issues with the roof I’ve got a constant weird creaking and dripping noise coming from a cupboard been up the loft but I can’t see any issues, but it’s driving me mad so think I’ll be sleeping downstairs tonight. Sky, Broadband and landline out this happened this time last year and took until May to properly get fixed, Uncle was really distressed earlier as he’s lost the roof off his garage, and some slates off the roof - he’s quite elderly and on his own so we were worried about him but the insurance company were fantastic with him and they’re sending someone out next week. Tomorrow’s clear up should be fun especially as we don’t know where the garage roof has gone 😳

The last one I had was the beast from the east but it wasn't in place until it had already started snowing so a bit apprehensive over how bad it's going to get or if it'll miss us 🤔
If you are in West, Central or SW of Scotland it won't be missing you, same if you are anywhere in North/South Ireland.
I think the winds will be pretty dangerous tomorrow, sometimes the warnings can be a bit overblown but a red warning is a definite worry.

I’m west coast and in a red area. Already got trees down/flooding and the worst isn’t going to arrive for a few hours yet!
