Definitely agree with her content being lacklustre these days. I used to like her because her personality came through and she wasn't a carbon copy of everyone else, but it seems like she saw that people liked that about her and created a character around this.

The thing I struggle the most with recently is just how much fast fashion/beauty she buys and wastes. It's like she is completely culturally unaware of things. I think her living in Cornwall is both a blessing and a curse for her. It stops her being another cut and paste influencer, but it also stops her networking and knowing what generates buzz these days.

The "I'm not like other girls" and "always get on with guys better" as an adult isn't a cool quirky thing like she thinks it is. It comes across as that she thinks she is better than other girls.

I don't dislike her and I truly feel for her losing her mum after so many years of struggle, but I just feel like she's quite sheltered in terms of any sort of diversity (or even just change) in her life.

So she’s done some sponsorship with Avon and it’s kicked off she’s promoting a MLM business. Apparently as far as she was aware Avon wasn’t an MLM anymore. It’s only one of the biggest and well known in the world but yeah sure

Yea I do think she is still processing the passing of her mother, I can't begin to imagine how tough that is for her. For the most part her content has gone downhill and is quite samey now. She also has a couple of other channels but then her youtube for its age doesn't seem to be growing with the same momentum as other youtubers I do wonder if this is impacting on her. Surely she should be concentrating on getting well maybe slowing down uploads and creating create content

New to this thread as tbh I actually quite like Steph!

I do however see the points about the macro lense but I don’t think she uses the beauty filter someone accuses her of, I just can’t ever see clearly what she’s talking about however sometimes you can see the makeup breaking up around her nose etc but yeah in general with most YTs I don’t get the macro lense when they have so many lights on, bit pointless.

I started stephs YT aaaaages ago and fell out of love with it a bit as I did find her content repetitive but lately I’ve gone back to it and I think there’s such a difference in her even over the last few weeks/months! In some of her old stuff she just sounds flat and a bit low and not really that into it whereas lately she seems a bit more enthusiastic so I hope that means she’s getting back on track!

On one hand I like her testing videos, you know the ones where she goes to somewhere like Poundland and picks up a load of products.

I can’t help think how wasteful it is though, we all know she’ll never touch these items again, they’ll rot in her drawers as no one else will take them and it’s pretty pointless when you think about it

i cant believe this thread is only on page 9 shes so annoying lol all her videos are the exact same and the macro camera is literally pointless when you have professional lighting blurring any type of texture on her skin. also when she announced she had been diagnosed she said its not a big deal and wont be talking about it much but every single video since then she mentions her adhd. she drops something and its "oh thats my adhd for you" or shes rambling on and is like "im so scatty today i have adhd" like ok so do many people? but they dont mention it every 5 seconds

So glad it’s not just me who can’t see any difference with that bloody macro camera she keeps going on about!!! I literally don’t know why she bothered with that whole new set up as I honestly can’t see any difference! Sophdoeslife just turns her ring lights off and shows you her skin in natural light and you can see things so much better!!!

If was the ADHD stuff that turned me off. It was like she was glamorising it. Impressionable viewers may have seen that and diagnosed themselves. Talking about things like that is always good to help break the stigma, but she went far beyond that I feel.

I am just in the middle of watching her recent "testing ELF Makeup" from the a few days ago.

I dont know what it is about her but she annoys the fuck out of me! lol. I am sure she is a lovely girl, but she just annoys me. And i get the impression she is a "Im not like other girls, i love gaming and i get on better with boys than girls" Plus the video she did testing Jaime Genievieve makeup was so bloody cringe! I have never seen someone so far up someone's arse!

Anyway, watching this vlog, and just her tutorials in general, to me she hasnt really got any makeup skills. This is probably an unfair comparison, but i love watching Angela Bright and An Knook, and compared to them she is like a toddler that has just got hold of mums makeup bag.

Really don't understand how people can say she's stunning. She's a right dog without any makeup on. Her face is overfilled and so are her lips. Also she has an enormously thick neck, it's all I can see. And so what I hear you cry, well she clearly fucking loves herself and thinks she's hot shit, with the camera eye fucking and the tight outfits. Sophie Hannah also does the same thing in IG and for some reason, I can't put my finger on it, it annoys me!
Idk maybe it's just me being pedantic but like today in her KVD beauty video she has her purple nails which she had before lockdown.. I know Manny also uploaded a KVD vid recently too so maybe it's a brand deal thing.
