This is a great account and also something to be aware of!
This is crazy. The first time he said it I thought maybe he had meant to say mass shooting but said stabbing by mistake because that’s what he had been talking about, but he went on to say it a further two or three times!! What an idiot.BBC News has been pretty terrible on this, I watched thislive and was amazed at the ignorance, and I don't think they ever corrected it. This is the guy who's doing the main coverage of it.
That is terrible and embarrassing. I’m going to be generous and assume he meant to say mass killings or something. I’m really trying to give him benefit of the doubt here and assume he hasn’t realised but it really isn’t good enough.BBC News has been pretty terrible on this, I watched thislive and was amazed at the ignorance, and I don't think they ever corrected it. It is not police decision on whether to name a suspect under the age of 18. It is down to the judge and the judge agreed to name him.he looks absolutely dead behind the eyes
Something just not adding up for me the police made so much emphasis on him being 17 and that’s why they had to protect his anonymity, then the judge overruled and the mail and the Sun put an application in for his name to be revealed. I’m just like that it was revealed and he just said happens to be 18 next week also the court drawings look like a completely different person to the photographs just my opinion
What exactly doesn't add up? The police can't name a suspect under 18. Only a Judge can rule that the reporting restrictions can be lifted, which is what happened today. Press outlets can, and regularly do, challenge reporting restrictions. Sometimes they win, sometimes they don't.he looks absolutely dead behind the eyes

There are a lot of things I can criticise the bbc for but here they are just repeating what is being said in court, by the prosecution. That also reads like prosecution wanted the reporting restrictions to remain in place.
I have autistic relatives and they wouldn’t do anything like this. Maybe he is autistic but this was still clearly a targeted attack and the reporting is a disgrace
Why would the prosecution want them to stay in place? Seems odd unless I'm missing something obvious? There are a lot of things I can criticise the bbc for but here they are just repeating what is being said in court, by the prosecution. Where are you seeing recent pics of him? I've only seen the court drawing that only shows his eyes.I don’t Evan think he is 17 he look well older and why issue photos to the press of when he was younger to tug at the heart strings
Very coincidental that he just happens to be 18 next Wednesday
Greater risk of the case and/or trial collapsing if there is prejudicial reporting now that his identity is known? You've already got people claiming his dad is a genocidal warlord...Why would the prosecution want them to stay in place? Seems odd unless I'm missing something obvious?
I’m talking about somebody saying that someone they knew was getting £100k a week, in their home, not a hotel. This is literally my job. £100k a week is probably about right, maybe even a bit conservative. My departments budget for temporary accommodation/hotels has quadrupled in the past 18 months or so. I am based in the North. If thr hotels in our area are full, they get sent whereever there is one available. I've had people sent to Leeds, Manchester, Blackpool, Leicester, etc. And the local authority pays all their taxi fares there and back of course! It all goes on the council's tab.
Maybe concerns over fair trial or something. It might just be badly worded and it’s not the case they wanted restrictions, it just seemed to read like that in that one paragraph. I’ve not had chance to read much detail today so I may have missed reports about other arguments made. Why would the prosecution want them to stay in place? Seems odd unless I'm missing something obvious?
Yeah could be that.Greater risk of the case and/or trial collapsing if there is prejudicial reporting now that his identity is known? You've already got people claiming his dad is a genocidal warlord...
I think it was mentioned in his request for bail they take everything into account he seemed to be stimming in the chair from what they reported.I have autistic relatives and they wouldn’t do anything like this. Maybe he is autistic but this was still clearly a targeted attack and the reporting is a disgrace
Is this going to be the new "not all men?". I hate when people centre themselves in the middle of a tragedy like this. It's pretty obvious that no one is blaming him being autistic for him going on to murder children. They are simply reporting fact.
No but his fathers business records are public documents. He is 17 his birth records are available online for anyone to see
