I have no words. What on earth has our country become. violent thugs targeting a mosque full of people, many of whom went to pray after being at the vigil, distraught at what has happened. I am so ashamed of what society has become. What a stain on those poor girls and their families. Heartbreaking

I live in Southport. And the whole thing is deeply upsetting and heartbreaking. These violent thugs had no right to riot and destroy a part of this town how they did, they seen the smallest opportunity to be racist and took it. The families of these beautiful little girls are grieving and shouldn’t have this on their doorstep. Just an hour after the community came together for a vigil as well. It’s disgusting

Young boys in this country are being led down a dangerous ideology about women and girls. Tate etc have a lot to answer for. I work with young people and the amount of times boys refuse to deal with female staff, don’t make eye contact with female staff, refuse to work with girls on projects, kick off massively until a male member of staff gets involved etc has risen massively since lockdown. They do this weird hand signal thing when female teachers are talking to show they don’t think they have to listen to you, they talk over girls and women consistently, incidents of sexism and sexual harassment in schools are at an all time high. I don’t think we should make this a race issue, more an issue with boys and their perception of women and girls.

Why did nobody riot or protest when Lucy Letby was convicted of killing all those innocent babies? One whiff that this is potentially someone who isn't white British and it causes this. I feel so sorry for the families trying to grieve and who are hurting so deeply, and now their streets are full of this shit.

I’ve lived in Liverpool all my life and moved a 15 minute drive from where this tragedy took place just last month, I have never in my life been more ashamed of Merseyside. The fact that 3 beautiful children have died is an after thought for all these racist scumbags who wanted an excuse to go out and do what they’ve done. The amount of them I’ve seen on social media and heard in the street the past 2 days is vile. Imagine holding a vigil for all those who have been involved to then turn it into riots asif the area hasn’t gone through enough heartbreak and upset. Absolute animals

The problem is though that the police have deliberately concealed identities of people and things have gone unreported so I can understand why people are annoyed. Were they right to go out rioting? Of course not. But they could have just said that they thought it was a minor and that would be the end of it.
It was reported by the authorities almost immediately that a male had been detained and that he was 17. Nothing more than that. They can’t also immediately go “and he was/was not brown and he was/was not Muslim” - do you realise the backlash that would also cause? Especially if it turned out not to be correct. Within hours there was false information and a false name being spread online which is what fuelled THIS race-fuelled rioting. That’s the people of this country’s doing, not the police. It’s nothing more than a repugnant desire to be vindicated and an attempt to politicise a tragedy to suit an agenda of racial profile. People are fucking ugly.

The kid was born here, he’s been raised here near on 18 years. He didn’t just come over on a boat last year. His birth records are there for everyone to see. As I’ve said if this was a white man no one would be questioning his or his family’s citizenship

I find it sickening, you can hear how much they’re enjoying themselves. It’s nothing to do with those poor little girls or wanting to keep kids safe. It’s just them wanting an excuse to spew venom & violence. They’re going live on TikTok marching down the street in balaclavas acting ten men, absolute fools.

I think the problem is that the police/media didn’t give any reports about the subject for over a day. Which led to the rumour mill. They could have stamped it down within a couple of hours by releasing a statement saying they didn’t suspect a Muslim.
And what if it had been a Muslim? Would any of this have been OK? Why on earth would anyone expect the police to let the public know the suspect's religion? Within 24 hours, no less.

hard working people who are upset.
I'll tell you who's 'upset' - the families who lost 3 little girls at the start of the week, and those of the others who are still in hospital. The mother of one who had to almost immediately take time out of her grieving process to plead with people not to do exactly what they went ahead and did. Perhaps instead of forefronting the 'feelings' of these thugs causing damage, fear and chaos up and down the country, we could respect the wishes of the actual victims here.

I do want to thank the police for how they’ve handled today. They have tried their hardest to protect the people of Southport from these opportunistic cunts who are so fuelled by hatred, they don’t even realise the long standing effects they’ll have on the local community. They’ll be onto the next place to attack and unsettle soon because these people will never have respect for the victims or their families, they just want an excuse to be violent. The scenes today should’ve never happened, those girls should’ve had the vigil dedicated to them in the most peaceful and respectful manner and these vile excuse for human beings couldn’t even give them that.

Not normally a defender of the police, but they were absolutely under attack last night from these dickheads. They didn’t seem to have the kit to defend themselves sufficiently, and I felt sorry for them!
I hope these dumb fucks out rioting are identified by their employers and sacked!
Employers lol

People have no fucking patience and want information that police won't have instantly. It's utter stupidity.

Add in the murderer is under 18 and it's even more difficult for police to give out any personal info that they do have.

Police have to abide by legal procedures or risk any chance at further action and conviction in a court of law.

The problem these days is people jump to the court of social media and convict or conversely, declare someone innocent of all wrongdoing when they don't have the full picture, or often any real information at all.

I seen a news article shared yesterday that is now hidden that linked as the killers dad. A man who moved here in 2002 making the killer a british citizen. The article was the dad at a martial arts club, a catholic who works full time here and probably pays more tax then half the scrotes out in the streets drinking cans of lager smashing up police vans. That won’t matter to them, they’ll look at the colour of the skin and automatically run with the fact he’s ‘been brought over on a boat’. This is about getting justice for them poor kids and the others who are still in critical conditions in hospital, what are they achieving by taking 22 police officers off the street and causing so much damage to the area over false information they’ve heard off fucking Tommy Robinson

A library is hardly a disruption..

It's not a hospital, clinic, or a place of that much importance
It’s a local centre that adults and children visit daily especially in the summer holidays. It’s a place where they do groups for SEN children like my son. It’s a building that should be fucking respected and not burnt down by some scumbags. Regardless of whether it’s a library, a squat or Buckingham fucking Palace this should not be happening
