The people on the streets looting shops, beating up any person of colour they come across, shouting racial slurs etc. have one thing in common - They are white men, drunk who think their problems lie with minorities in this country. Those aren't migrants on the streets being violent and rioting, the ones who are grew up in this country on the very streets they're now destroying. The boy who killed the 3 little girls was a second generation immigrant who had been born in this country, he did not arrive on a small boat. Some of you are very unpleasant with how you think that your problems lie with migrants. Yes, it is an issue but unfortunately the previous government made it this way so they'd have an excuse to create problems like this.

so you are a racist if you speak out about people coming here for benefits regardless of their skin 🤦
It’s a myth that immigrants get any benefits. If you believe that they do you really need to go and read a book or something.

Romanians are white and loads beg on the street where I live (even though they have council accomodation and benefits) they are a drain.

It's nothing to do with skin colour.
I’d love to know how you know they have council accommodation and benefits. Or how they get more benefits than the average Brit who also struggles to survive on benefits alone. Though I reckon this is a lost cause of a conversation

I’m only replying because I know from my own experience that everyone is xenophobic towards Romanians, Eastern European immigrants included. Bulgarians are also a popular group to dislike

Hardly see the far right groups getting worked up about the white immigrants these days though, do you? Used to be more common before Brexit from what I remember

I am saying a lot of people who are currently rioting are racists, yes, but I also said that I just don’t understand why this has anything to do with the three children and their families.

I don’t know the statistics regarding what percentage of people over the years who have been granted asylum are working and what percentage are in receipt of benefits. I only know personally of two who are currently working at our local hospital, one as a cardiologist, as my daughter works there, but anecdotal evidence isn’t the same as the stats is it?

You’re ignoring that the work they can do is very very limited
There’s certain vetting procedures that have to be followed when working with vulnerable people ,employing illegal immigrants isn’t going to improve the wages of British workers that don’t have their food and board covered , nor is it helping those that pay for very expensive visas and accommodation to work here.

i would say that 12 months is quite a long time, and after that time a number of them will be working.
Working in the black market? Where do they source accommodation if they’re still in the asylum system I’m assuming they’re still reliant on Serco? So essentially working whilst the tax payer covers their food, heating and accommodation.

My point was more that an asylum seeker with permission to work isn’t going to be able to get a “normal” everyday job. The jobs on that list are mostly specialised jobs that your average Brit couldn’t do either

Granted, we’ve had multiple conversations about this previously and it’s never made a difference to your generally uninformed opinions or your love for misunderstanding points on purpose

Edit: for anyone who isn’t familiar with asylum rules, those with permission to work can only work in jobs on the Shortage Occupation List. The most accessible is probably healthcare-related work

Because they walk into council flats and live there lol loads of them. And I presume they are on benefits as they have no job and walk around with begging bags in shopping trolleys. Come to Glasgow and see.

There’s lots of care, agriculture and building work?? What profession are you talking about?

You could make the same point about being supported by the tax payer about the 38% of people in this country who work but still claim universal credit, but at the risk of becoming a broken record, what has this to do with the three murder children and their grieving families?

As I mentioned previously, my first inference from the initial facts was that this was a young man who has been influenced by misogynistic content on line but I’m not going to be cheering if gangs of women go around en masse beating up men.

(no disrespect to anyone working who claims UC. I understand that people need that support, I was just trying to make a point. Anyone who does honest work has my respect)

Well they can’t can they? As they are illegal immigrants and awaiting a decision about whether they have a right to remain. They can’t work during this time as the rules forbid them to. Well, legally anyway. Only legal immigrants are able to work. Care homes and NHS etc will have to follow legal employment channels.
well they had the right to remain in France, a safe country. We have absolutely no idea who these people are! I can’t rock up on a beach in Spain and expect to be put up and paid for and expect to stay there…. I can’t understand why people can’t see this and how dangerous it is. They are NOT fleeing war torn countries, if they were, have they just run off and left all the women and children ffs!!. 75% are Albanian men and I’m not aware that they are at war with anyone. The issue is that they all want to come to good old free Blighty, and they’ll never integrate, hate our way of life and don’t respect women. People have just had enough. I don’t have anything against anyone wanting to try and make a new life but we as a country are ridiculous in giving them what we do and we have to know their background.

They’re legal citizens of the country why shouldn’t they be supported? So by your standards anyone can come here and get full board and work 🙄

I have no words. What on earth has our country become. violent thugs targeting a mosque full of people, many of whom went to pray after being at the vigil, distraught at what has happened. I am so ashamed of what society has become. What a stain on those poor girls and their families. Heartbreaking
Would have been nice if the Iman had offered condolences to the families but nothing….

Anyone who is granted asylum status should be supported, yes. It’s not their fault that the process is taking so long.

The local mosque raised money and contributed to a go fund me within 48 hours of it being set up.

If we had British Pakistani or Black British gangs of men smashing up shops, targeting white people, roaming round off their heads, battling with the police, carrying weapons in en masse, coordinated mobilisation in several cities across the UK today it would be called a terrorist attack and extreme action like the army would be called in.

Normal, decent people don't want to go out today. My son is playing a gig in Bradford and my daughter has been shopping in Leeds. I'm really worried for their safety. This is a disgusting act by these people. The government need to get a grip. I can't believe what I'm seeing. It's 2024!

Actually, they aren’t Albanians any more, they were but since Brexit, this has fallen. I’m not here to convince you or anyone else, it is clear that we all have differing opinions on this matter and that’s ok.
