The speech therapy comment on her stories gives me the rage on two levels…1) She’s only talking about it now to garner engagement and potentially some new followers - I thought she didn’t want to share too much about Bore-ney And 2) I work with so many families who desperately need specialist intervention and access to SALTs and such resources are so stretched yet they get it, when it’s pretty obvious that the primary reason for his speech delay is that they never bloody talk to him, play with him, take him anywhere stimulating or engaging or model any kind of language beyond “good job” . Another family in need have been shunted down the queue because of their laziness…
I agree. Dave would help the situation be singing nursery rhymes with Barney, rather than belting out show tunes and kidding himself that he can singThe speech therapy comment on her stories gives me the rage on two levels…1) She’s only talking about it now to garner engagement and potentially some new followers - I thought she didn’t want to share too much about Bore-ney And 2) I work with so many families who desperately need specialist intervention and access to SALTs and such resources are so stretched yet they get it, when it’s pretty obvious that the primary reason for his speech delay is that they never bloody talk to him, play with him, take him anywhere stimulating or engaging or model any kind of language beyond “good job” . There is NO situation that could be helped by Dave singing.I agree. Dave would help the situation by singing
The lions would probably think "I didn't realise hippos could sing"OK, hypothetically if they were on the African Sahara and a pack of lions are eyeing up Dave as their meal for the next couple of weeks that's a situation where his singing would come in handy.
She makes it sound like Barney showed SO much improvement, which makes me wonder how long the span is between appointments and how long his sessions are. My nephew with autism attends weekly speech therapy in the summer when school isn't in session, for one hour, with specific HOMEWORK for the parents to focus on to promote better speech. I just can't see these two taking the time to work with Barney each day, between working and all (shopping for Amish dresses), and I now wonder if he is in daycare of some sort interacting with other kids all day, and that is why he is talking more.
