Haha I read that, for someone who studied journalism it's so badly written. She complains about living with sobmany people but simultaneously about always being alone, for example.
Also a study abroad guide, did kacie study in Italy? Seems like a random thing for her to write

I read that article too! She was so obnoxious it's hard to have any sympathy for her. She came across as such a "I'm not like others..."

And yeah, Kacie has this guide and a few others. I can't imagine what she wrote since all her advice is nothing you can't find anywhere else.

One thing I noticed was someone asked how to get a job in Italy. Thankfully she said she wasn't an expert lol. But she said she came to study and now works for her own "company" or whatever. So maybe she did convert her permesso to "lavoro autonomo" in the end. I'm sure she earns quite a bit (and no wonder she's been doing all those sponsorships lol).

Anyone see Sofie's abuelo's 90th surprise party? He was so cute And her dad is a very good looking guy lol. I couldn't believe he was 58.

That magazine seems to be full of clueless Americans, the next thing I saw was about an American living in Argentina (for the past 14+ years) whose daughter had decided to stay there to study lamenting the fact that, unlike US unis there was no one to welcome you and show you around, no meal plans or dorms, and yet still somehow thought that the American system prepared you for the real world better

Yeh i saw the bday party, that was so sweet

Kacie strikes again. Yes, I am pretty unforgiving when one can't even be bothered to check before posting, especially when it's your job. It's coccolE for cuddles, Kacie. Coccoli are simply the Tuscan antipasto and there's no overlapping.

Yet another great ad for her friends language teaching app

And again. Not Kacie at a dinner with Italians, just sitting there and saying "Wowwwwww" (which I hate), while captioning she's intimidated by the lang/conversation. Lol.

If being surrounded by Italians and not really able to participate in conversations isn't enough to motivate her to improve her Italian quickly what is? When I moved there I spoke a handful of sentences (although I spoke Spanish so could understand quite a lot) but within a few months I could speak pretty fluently and say what I wanted and be understood (albeit still with loads of mistakes) just because I purposely lived and surrounded myself by people j spoke Italian to. she reminds me so much of an American colleague I had when I lived there

It should have been an opportunity to prove people who say she can't speak it wrong. Lol. And yeah, people are forgiving of mistakes. Just try.

I guess nobody ever told Kacie nor did she read for/inform herself that permesso pick-ups in Florence are only after 2 pm. The ritiro is never in the morning, hence her high number. She went at 8 am and is bitching about something that is her own fault. Yeah bureaucracy is bad, but this is 100% on her.

I don't get how she is so clueless when she luves with an Italian boyfriend, does she never ask him for advice?

To be honest, he doesn't seem that bright to me either? Or at least very present lol.

That said, I think they did a coppia di fatto permesso request. I see she got a Carta di soggiorno but I don't think they got married. Unless that will be a big reveal , haha.

Petty but it annoys me so much when Americans complain about visa issues, most of the world are unable to just travel/live elsewhere because of visa restrictions, it is hardly easy to get a green card for example is it? I always strikes me as so entitled

If you saw the Expats in Italy group on FB your head might explode. I've been here so long now I had forgotten how many think throwing money around buys anything. I should probably remove myself, since most questions are really complaints on how hard obtaining visa XYZ is and the "unfairness" of it. Though now some Brits are doing the same.

Yeh brits are pretty bad too (having not realised the benefits of the EU but that is a topic for another thread ...)

I see Sofie has a new vlog, but it seems like a hike I saw a bit of in her stories a while ago. If K doesn't post maybe I'll watch later tonight.

I think a lot of people in her situation have coppia di fatto permessos and don’t want to admit it lol

Yes, and funny she didn't mention it herself. Only that Dario is an EU citizen. She says she's not an immigrant expert but I'm sure she was flooded with questions.
