What she explains here is everything Kacie doesn't do: learn the language, assimilate, enjoy living there etc. Sure she's been in Florence longer than KR, but the difference is notevole. Instead we see Kacie only speaking in English and making pepper and cream cheese sandwiches with a side of ranch dressing. Lol. I have a friend who is in Italy on the same visa, lives with her Italian boyfriend, and recently started doing daily TikToks practicing speaking the language and it shows how much she's progressed because she's trying. You don't learn if you don't try.
