@emm Did you catch Lauren Q's How We Met story? So she met her boyfriend (guess not married) in vacanza in Sardegna. Then they went off to Sicily by themselves. He asked her to live with him immediately so she literally just never went back to England nor showed up for teaching!? Lol.

Someone didn't need money and I see this lasting as long as her social media earnings don't dry up and the comped hotel stays.

I forgot the part where he only went on said vacanza supposedly because he saw her photo from friends and wanted to meet her (blonde straniera).

Yes I did! As a qualified teacher she could easily get a job teaching there, I cannot imagine being so ready to drop my financial independence for someone I had just met

Sofie is so annoying as she really has no idea how she comes across. In her InstaStories she says she hasn't been on YT bc it's so draining to upload and she hasn't been able to do much lately. Except get her comped beauty treatments and massages or whatever, evidently. Or go to breakfast with the other Florence Fools, AKA "influencers."

She’s a completely different person compared to five years ago.
In her stories she mentioned that her pregnancy has been great overall. Maybe everyone should work at Sunday Riley if their pregnancy leave is this long and great. That must be why she hasn’t worked basically since she found out she was pregnant.

Yeah now that you mention. And thanks @moronglace too. I never really understood what her veganism was or wasn't since at times she'd make a big thing out of ordering pizza marinara. But she does obvs eat mozzarella too.

Yeah, they hired her bc she already had dual citizenship.

I see she finally updates her LinkedIn. She put her end date Dec 2024. So she likely ran up all of her maternity and vacation time til the end. I'll have a look and see if someone else lists that position.

Yeh exactly this, inguess there are lots of dual nationals but not that many Americans have Italian or the experience/social media she has which must also hVe been another selling point

She keeps losing IG followers with no gains, again in the past 30 days. I would think that means her content is not relatable or appealing. And now she's at some hotel in the centro of Florence with more luxe promo work.

Even Kacie evidently got dinged for promoting a really expensive agriturismo since she had to note the fact she includes all her followers and all prices, and this would be "for a special occasion." She basically told people to calm down in their messages lol.

I am not sure if I've seen Natasha. There was a period where YT was suggesting all these Uni aged north American girls in Italy and I never kept track. Lol. Some blonde girl who had had a head injury previously. I think her name was Luca? She visited and studies a bit in Italy. Then some girl in Bologna, also blonde. I think her American boyfriend eventually joined her but I can't remember her name nor saw her videos again lol. Then there was Kenna Burke whose Lombardy accent blew my mind. She spoke/spraks so well, but is like 10+ years younger than me so I never really followed.

Random question for Italian people, I know Sofie always says "rega" , I had always thought this was a roman thing, is it just a standard Italian thing? (Obviously loads of slang goes from Rome.elsewhere but I didn't realise jr was this widespread)

I'm not Italian obvs , but have been here for years now. I find it very central-southern Italian. I heard it a lot in Florence from my Orvieto and Calabrese friends, but now up north rarely hear it.
