she is very much like Jack Munroe, any (however slight) criticism is met with some kind of personal crisis that excuses everything and makes her fans feel bad. From comments on her posts I also imagine a lot of her fans are very vulnerable and probably not in the position to give away money lightly, it really is awfulNail on head. It's so manipulative. There's nothing remotely abusive in what the person said, and yet it's been implied that their words are akin to being abusive because someone who abused Sofie has used similar phrases.
I am so sorry that Sofie has experienced abuse. I've also experienced abusive family members - I truly understand how an innocuous phrase can make you cold when said in a certain tone or with a certain look. But you can't lay that on people who have done you no harm, and it's not fair to read objectively harmless words in that way and share it with your followers like that.
I wonder if what really happened was that the message made Sofie feel guilty/ashamed and rather than owning it fully they wanted to justify their lack of public gratitude and take some of the sting out of it?
It's also a way to justify their really crappy behaviour of blocking this person. A person who donated money towards hank's op in good faith and was feeling a bit put out.
Something else that's rattling me a bit is that they've not been transparent AT ALL about how much money she recieved in donations and what's happening to any surplus....

“offended” seems like trying to make the original message seem sooo unreasonable, and as for saying not liking that people want a show of gratitude… well maybe that’s cause you feel guilty and self absorbed for not doing it without being asked, and rightfully so

I wish she’d just say ‘look, my bad - I should’ve said thank you earlier and I can see why it riled people up. I’m sorry’ rather than ‘which trauma response is this??’ to deflect any responsibility. A lot of us carry trauma throughout out lives but it doesn’t mean you are above criticism and are never at fault
Exactly! Sofie seems to think it excuses her from everything, whilst at the same time no-one else is allowed to step out of line ever. What about other people's trauma? Maybe it's triggering to some people to give away hard earned cash without a word of thanks?

Did it annoy anyone else their posting about that channel 4 weight loss show that is not about dieting? Maybe I am being petty but there is a way of losing weight without a diet, the whole point is that it is a lifestyle change, rather than a diet which is basically intended to be a (relatively) short change of eating habits to lose weight, which generallly don't work as then people just go back to their old eating habits and gane weight again, hence people always saying diets don't work. I don't care what Sofie (or anyone else for that matter) weighs but this annoyed me

Totally agree, considering her whole "thing" is being large happy, they don't at all seem it. As most of us have said, we were all fans at one point, it makes me sad to see them like this tbh. People who are really happy don't obsessed with what others say about them on social media, especially when they have loads of people cheering them on. If you cannot cope with people criticising you just block them and move on imo

Am very interested to see how Edinburgh all works out with a high needs dog. You know, the dog everyone told her was a breed that would cost her thousands of pounds in vet bills because it was overbred, and she said ‘yeah yeah I’m going to get it anyway’ and then it ended up needing thousands of pounds of treatment that she couldn't afford.
