First time poster in this thread, hello. I've done SW a few times but nowadays I'm very vocal about how it's a con and relies on people failing. Some of the tripe that the consultants used to come out with in my group was just dangerous. I got cancer in lockdown and during my treatment needed to be weighed every day - I actually fell back into old SW habits (didn't have too much to eat beforehand, nipped to the loo even if didn't need it, wore light clothes) and I'm angry at myself that I was secretly pleases watching those numbers go down rather than focusing on what was important!
I didn't realise there was a such a massive SW IG cult, and these threads have been really eye opening! Some of the stuff about "unofficially" losing weight but gaining on a different group's scales (must be the calibration) is brilliant

I’m wholly expecting Slimming World to be sold off to an American company in the near future as it must be a cash cow. Does anyone know how much profit they actually make? Would be interesting. Unless they are already owned by one? Does that Margaret still own it?

You can check out the Companies House documents filed. Looks like there are several companies involved, including registered in Guernsey all with MMB as a director. the Shareholder is in Guernsey too.

She will be living outside of the UK to avoid taxes. Probably only allowed in the UK for set number of days/nights.
They tried rolling it out in the states about 15 years ago. There were some in person groups near Texas (I think) it was mainly online though. They could have English muffins as a Hex B was a controversial thing I remember. Not long after WW started adopting their plan that was really similar to the SW one.
Yes they did I remember that. I'm sure there are sw groups all over Europe. I think you can use the app abroad too

Yes, when she was pregnant she would do talking stories updating about babies growth scans etc (high risk pregnancy so she was in hospital a lot) and would ALWAYS at the end tag on “oh and by the way if anyone wanted to order…”is she the one constantly spamming trying to sell that lumispa??

I went to group this morning and lost 3 pounds. I was feeling very good until the consultant told us all about the Slimming World Oscars? Have any of you ever heard of it? The thought of the sort of people who attend that make me want to projectile vomit. Put me down for 4 pounds loss next due to excess vomiting.
Oh yes it was the in the thing a few years back all over Instagram with the big headed mostly fool accounts
It is vomit inducing then. It could be a tactic to help people lose weight.
