Don't understand why you say that, everyone in business makes money and spends it how they want, same as you.
I have just joined SW
This thread is for criticism and piss taking of SW.
You won't find any tips or syn values on here.
If you like SW and think it's good, you won't like 95% of what is said on here.
Don't be suprised and defensive when people disagree with you.

Hello long time lurker and prolific SW yo yo-er here 👋

There is no denying SW works if you follow the plan and don't abuse it with mounds of potatoes and pasta, but the only reason it works is because it puts you in a calorie deficit if followed correctly as others have said on these threads many a time.

SW has well and truly fucked with my idea of foods to be considered healthy. I'll still have pasta n sauce for lunch, still buy HexB approved bread, still weigh out 30g cheese etc even if it ends up being more than I'd use if I was just sprinkling parmesan on bolognese for example.

When I was following the plan it was so easy if I was at home, or could make something to take to work with me for lunch but with my job I can be away from home for a week at a time and it just becomes a total nightmare trying to stick to it. Your only low syn options really if they are even available for lunch are a Subway salad, specific ready made salads from M&S or just a pack of chicken from the supermarket. It is a miserable existence when the people you work with are happily grabbing a meal deal at lunch and you're having a meltdown manically scanning stuff cos they've sold out of sushi!!

Then when you go out for dinner it's even worse, steak and a jacket potato it is unless you're somewhere SW has listed the syns for when you know full well you could have something else off the menu for less calories but your SW mentality tells you no.

At group the majority of the other members were retired or could take a packed lunch every day, remember once having Nandos for tea when I was working away and posting it on the FB group and one of the members was like 'I couldn't possibly spend that many syns on a meal' I think it worked out being like 6 syns or something. I was like I don't want to be doing but this was the only feasible option, I don't even like Nandos FFS 😂

Sorry for the rant 🙈 I just think yes it does work but only if you are able to stick to it at all times which I found incredibly difficult even when I was feeling 100% on it!

Guyyys Gemma Bs cookbook pre-orders are being sent out. Don’t forget to pick up your copy so you too can never lose any weight 😂
I yearn for the simpler times of when every SW insta hun thought they'd made it when they got a spice code.
Now they all have shitty cookbooks.

Does Beckscross have her own thread? Does anyone else follow?
Don’t generally mind her from a sw perspective, she tends to eat more of the ready meal style stuff but is quite good at sticking to the plan. But my god, she must do a clothing haul of oversized jumpers and hoodies three times a week. I don’t know where she gets the money, and am convinced she can’t wash any of her clothes, just disposes and buys new because NO ONE needs that much stuff.
I don't know this account but I'd say people who do this many clothing hauls (and then the clothes are never seen again) tend to order and send them back. They all do it purely for content and it's absolutely pathetic

i need tattle advice, do I have a right to be angry right now? I will give you the details.

For a while in group we have donated to a member of the social teams daughter, we bring an item of food for slimmer of the week and we also bring a item for the social teams daughter who lives in a town not too far away. We renamed the donation basket to the food bank to protect the daughters identity and dignity, but it’s agreed the donations goes to the social teams daughter as she doesn’t work and struggles financially.

I dropped a food blender off recently for the social teams daughter at her house, when I was invited in, I was asked if I want a coffee and she told me she had just spent £1,000 on a bean to cup machine. Afterwards I thought something doesn’t seem right.

We all had a meal planned for the Woman of the Year at a local restaurant and we paid a £10 deposit each, there isn’t many of us who attend group. 12 all together at the most. The meal was cancelled because of Covid. Rather than refunding out deposits, they have said they will donate the money to the group food bank. Only a few of us know that it is just a name we use for the sake of the social teams daughter. It has caused a lot of anger in the group. The consultant has rang us all individually and has called us mean spirited and selfish and the social team member is angry with us all for challenging it.

Are we in the wrong, be honest?
This is wrong and should not be happening.

The thing about Michael Mosley is I personally would be careful to buy into everything he says.
If you want to do it just buy one of his books and you'll probably lose some weight.
I wouldn't buy into his online groups, meal replacements and supplements he sells.

-Despite what he trys to portray he is 100% pure business man.
-He is not a Dr of medicine.
-He qualified as a Dr of psychiatry. But he never practiced and then went straight to working at the BBC as tv producer.
-He then was a tv presenter and eventually went to do the show 'eat, fast and live longer'
-On the show he interviewed lots of people who fasted and the author of 'the longevity diet'
-Micheals stuff is a rip off of the longevity diet. It is not from years of research or his own medical knowledge as he has none. He's as nutritionally qualified as an SW consultant.
- Everything I said here can be found on google.

Not bashing it if you want to try it, try it...just eyes open folks

I’ve decided to leave the slimming clubs, weigh in at home and transfer £5 to a savings account. Have a mate that’s going to keep me accountable for weigh ins.

Just come across this lady. She looks amazing but blinking heck, 5.5 stone in 19 weeks???? Slimming World disordered eating at its finest!!!
This girl is nuts! I quickly unfollowed after her posting multiple stories calling some girl a fat cow over and over. Guaranteed she’ll pile all the weight back on as she restricted on holiday and posted the other day saying they hadn’t been out for a meal/takeaway since she started. And if she finds out she’s being discussed on here I imagine there will be some hilarious tantrum 🤣

Ah .. it was meant to be a positive post to share I'd finally found something that suits me after years of dieting and compulsive eating. In no way would I encourage someone to starve. But I take your point and of course it's about calorie deficit and that's never going to change whatever diet you follow.
I feel doing slimming world made me see certain foods as the enemy eg. Frylight as opposed to real spray olive oil. That white bread was from the devil & should never be consumed. Butter & fats are to be avoided but chemical spreads are good kind of thing.
Anyways I'm much happier & have more energy so it's worked for me though I'd never have imagined it would.

I went absolutely cold turkey on everything, and yeah, I still follow it to the T. It is possible to keep it off, I'm proof of that. I do not for the life of me understand why people work hard to lose a considerable amount of weight and then just pile it back on, thats not sw fault, that can only be the fault of the person in question.

I've not gone hungry, and I certainly dont starve myself.
I haven't gained all of mine back, but I have gained some.
But it's simply because I've never dealt with my issues around food.
I don't blame SW for that. But it certainly didn't help. It just ended up making everything worse. But again, because I hadn't dealt with those issues.
If anything, I'd blame consultants for making it worse.
Calling out weight gains infront of everyone. Telling people not to exercise. Making you feel bad for only losing 1lb. Ect ect

I see the Welsh one (sioned) who bums sw Ross has admitted a 13lbs gain. It can't be sustainable if as soon as you deviate from the plan, you put on a stone

Looks like Loving Lauren is going ahead with SW 😕 just find it insane how this is being allowed to happen given what happened I think less than 2 years ago and she was on death’s door 😢
Bit of a lurker on this thread, but I am genuinely very worried for her. She lost all that weight, was on death’s door, then gained a lot of weight quite quickly which I can’t imagine is very good on her body. Now she wants to lose 3 stone by Christmas? If SW actually cared about their members, they never should have let her rejoin because she’ll get herself in an endless cycle of losing and gaining extreme amounts and that’s not good for her mental or her physical health

I have done previously exactly what she has done and I am now back at my starting weight. I had an Instagram ‘slimming world’ account and I had a moderate following. I lost three and a half stone in 17 weeks. Looking back, it’s embarrassing. It was far too fast, I was far too deprived, but I was addicted to the attention and the praise. At no point did anyone in group say it was too fast or to be more sensible, the slimming world consultants are just obsessed with success, scale numbers and money. When I hit target, the attention stopped. You are no longer making money for slimming world as a target member and it’s the biggest anti climax. All of a sudden, the praise and the attention just stops. I then suffered a massive family bereavement, and stopped going to group. I slowly started to gain. The next time I heard from my slimming world consultant was when she had caught wind I was putting some back on and she knew I was out of target and had monetary value again. I did not go back and but when I look back on my slimming world days, I know they’ve left me with one lasting thing - an incredibly unhealthy attitude to food and disordered eating.

It will be no different for for this little insta hun. She’s certainly not got the right attitude to make and keep a successful account, she appears very rude. But I’d put money on her disappearing one day when she realises that you can’t live on no meals out, no take aways and you can’t keep up 3 hours exercise each day. I feel a little sorry for how delusional she is 😔
I've said it before. I had a consultant tell me that I wasn't losing weight quick enough for my size. Even though I was losing 1-2lbs most weeks. The same con told me that water retention wasn't a thing. I was fairly messed up anyway but that along with the lockdown showed me the light.

I missed it all but violence is never the answer, I know someone who was killed by one punch. I can guess whose was the deleted post and think they have a chip on their shoulder 🙃

Anyway looks like Loving Lauren went to SW 🤦‍♀️ Can’t believe she’s asking for ‘tips’!! I am genuinely terrified for her!

I don’t know how I’ve missed this thread but I’ve howled so much at the old sw things I used to do 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

i am however doing it again (online only) as no way am I sitting in a room with the happyclappy nobheads BUT I am not adapting anything. I am eating normal food and using the syns on real food. I needed some sort of structure due to my eating disorders and this works for me. I still think the sw cult are nobheads though and I don’t advertise I do it for sheer embarrassment 🤣🤣🤣
