As other have said it only works if you do it 100% but also you have to be mindful on the portions of free foods. But even though you see the plan and think wow I can eat all thos food free it kinda messes your head up when it comes to having oats and bread (sw bread allowance isnt bread in my opinion) in the same day. Or seeing food as syn vs free. No food should be seen as good or bad IMO. And ad others have said doing a fake away for free syns can be more calorific then the actual thing you wanted in the first place.
The only 2 thing s I like it for is encouraging cooking from scratch and pushing the fruits and veggies per meal for volume and lower cals.

If I were you, dont go back, track your cals and macros and enjoy life instead of feeling restricted on a plan that messes with heads big time
I became genuinely afraid to eat bread/porridge for breakfast.. because what if I fancied a roll with my dinner 🙈🙈 I now see how insane this is .. but I think I still have a very disordered relationship with food.. I have a baby now and am terrified of doing the same to him so I’m trying to fix it while he’s still young!

It’s honestly like brainwashing, imagine not allowing yourself to eat a quiche with a crust 😂
One of the SW instas I follow has just announced she is back on plan, went to her friends for the night where they were all having a takeaway and she took her own horrific slimming world creations to eat instead!! How sad is that really. I remember being in that mindset and it is crazy to think about now 🤣

I understand how you feel, stepping away is the hardest thing ever. I am still battling it and trying to find a balance.

If you can start calorie counting your meals. That first, get used to it and then slowly start letting go.off syns.
.it took me nearly 5 months but I am finally free and starting to enjoy the freedom.

I am planning on ditching calorie counting as well by decema
syns havent ever been a problem for me to be honest, I've only ever followed it as the book says and not as these insta dickwads do like cooking your bacon with the fat on and then cutting around the fat as one award winning consultant does...fucking shameful behaviour. thats where, in my eyes anyway, where a lot of people fail. They see harry pickard putting so much chocolate inside half a fucking easter egg you can hear willy wonka furiously being wanked off by oompa loompas in the background and they think they can do it too....

Our taster sessions were always fizzy drink, grapes and some sort of shit tasteless egg muffin thing because no one could be bothered.
Ours were a mix. One time someone brought in an actifry and did chips. Someone else did the mushy peas curry with that many mushrooms I wish inwas hallucinating.

I've just remembered a girl I went to uni with lost 6 stone on slimming world and went to the papers, saying things like "my diet before was a large latte for breakfast, two Gregg's sausage rolls for lunch, a maccies drive through for dinner...and now I have syn free porridge, salads and home made meals!" It's not fucking rocket science Hun??? I wonder if she thought they'd give her free membership for the publicity?

You name it, I'm likely to have tried it. Scan bran forerro rocher, fake haribo, curry loaf with a batchelors rice, pasta n sauce quiche... I was slim no doubt because I'd eat half then turf it

Sw was a lot better IMO before they introduced the extra easy plan. Not being allowed to eat 2 servings of bread/cereal etc. a day is absolutely ridiculous when you're allowed to eat huge bowls of pasta and rice and meat. The red & green plans worked so much better I don't know why they got rid of them

Who was it?
Justabitofnatalie. I feel mean tbh saying who because I do genuinely like her and appreciate her honesty.

Back from my hols anyway and trying to hold out from rejoining SW, wish me luck 🙈

Also; just seen it is time for this to be the new thread title @ChubClubThug

Maybe should change she’s to Mags for the title but I just think it’s so good 🤣🤣

What does everyone think of princess planning
overpriced, overhyped glorified pamphlets.

I do not understand why people feel they need a £45+ item to write down what they eat. They've liked my posts on the gram, made a few comments (clearly after a sale) but to be honest I'd rather stuff wasps up my arse than give those horrendacunts a penny.

and to whoever asked why sw has never featured me, I'd be here all day explaining why. Top of the list would be image. I don't have the look they like to promote and I couldn't think of anything worse than being dressed by someone else to fit into the sw way of doing things. I've been accused of bullying by them because I recreated a picture beggy ben and a muller light so they pulled a feature on me that they had written up, but when I asked them why harry pickard is allowed to go around bullshitting people about his make believe 8 stone weight loss in slimming worlds name, they told me that "we cannot control what people put on their personal instagram accounts"..but they obviously monitor it as my case proves.

Everyone I know that have done SW, have left to calorie count/macros and not kept the SW weight loss off after reaching target. My old consultant is so far out of her target range that she's near enough at her original starting weight.

I'm glad I never have to buy a tub of quark again and pretend to like it 🤮

She may have been mentioned before but I would give ASpoonfulOfAlice a view on tiktok. She explains exactly why slimming world, keto, WW etc don't work and her videos have changed the way I look at things completely

Add the hi fi bar temptation, the subtle magazine advertising, the raffle money, and the after club shopping for quark etc.

It is not until you start summing all this up that you realise how SW are ripping people off.
It costs me roughly £35 per month.
That is someone's weekly foodshop.

Like @hereforalaugh38 said, Nutracheck is Gold. For £25/year it has so much features.
Very true! I’m a sucker for the Hifis, books etc. If I do a bare bones weekly shop for me and my partner with no booze or big treats it comes to about £40!

I used to blow so much money on the latest HexA, HexB etc, or the latest thing to save syns like Xantham gum a La Pinch of Nom to save syns on a tbsp of cornflour, sorry but no one got fat by adding a tbsp of cornflour to a recipe for four 🤣🤣

I liked slimming world because my community is very small and before covid it was very social, I was very open about going for coffee and cake after a good week with my daughter, we like to lose weight before an event but we don’t take it too seriously. Sometimes you become the focus of the consultants attention and she pointed out that out coffee and cake after slimming world could be between 30-40 syns. A younger member said why not instead try the filled Easter eggs, you can have a treat but fill the egg with a lot more food and free fruit rather than going to a coffee shop. I just wanted a cake not a lecture, why would I stop doing something socially, go home and eat a gluttonous amount of food for the same syn value and feel no better for it and socially deprived? That is sometimes where I feel that slimming world can be mentally damaging in some respects. As I would imagine some people taking on that advice

I remember being away do çompete in a sports event. I had tins of sardines and pickled veggies in my hotel room. That was fragrant!

Growing up and well into my 30s I thought I didn't like yogurt. Turns out I don't like fat free sweetener laden fruity yogurts. Now I've discovered the full fat stuff and wow. It's so good! I still have to be in the mood but it's a proper treat now not a begrudging make do for a pudding.
Bonne Maman fruit yogurts all the way! You can ram those "cheesecake/cappuccino/bannoffee" flavoured mullers up yer scanbran scuffed shitter, give me one of those any day over 27 mullerlights!
