I like their page but from what I heard their programme isn't worth the money
I bought the programme. To be fair is worth the £65 there is plain info easily understood by the most basics of mind. There is so much conflicting info on the Internet especially in terms of calculating your calories but the programme clearly explains that.

Sarah can be a little rude attimes but very lovely and helpful most of the times so I guess its the way she writes Cox she is dyslexic.

The programme teaches you simple science of food and weighloss. It helps you understand your body and needs plus no food is bad which in my opinion is very good considering how many people's relationships with food is truly damaged

The weekly lives are very helpful too.

An extra 5g of oats can be the difference between a 5lb gain and a 2lb loss.
Remember, its not the 40 mullerlights, 17 mugshots, sack of spuds, bag of pasta, mushy pea gravy, 8 SW iceland quarter pounders and the whole KFC bargain bucket you flexi - synned you had this week that are the difference between a loss and a gain huns!
It's not measuring your healthy extras correctly and them berries you microwaved for 30secs that you failed to syn.
You're not the slimming expert, she is....

I wonder how many facelifts she has had. Old Mags isn’t exactly a size 10 or 12.

Noo she isn't. Mags won't be following SW, because she knows its a con.
She isn't eating quark and iceland sausages.
She's sat in the med drinking champagne and eating the finest steaks and seafood funded by the weekly fivers of fatties.

Today the consultant has rang the member leading the community group we are doing, she first made threats, then she called up again, back tracked and asked for the details not to be shared with anyone and being too nice about it. She not long ago text my friend and said the area manager will be in touch. It is petty!

I had a quick look at the page but there is a lot of warning signs on there for me. Lots of triggering language simply designed to sell their plan

I think my favourite was when I read not to drink coffeewith certain foods coz of tannins - at that point I ditched the idea of following them

These types of things are not regulated so as long as there is no copywriter infringement there’s not a thing they can do

Most NHS trusts offer a weight loss programme called ‘A Better Life’ or ‘More Life’ as well as talking about calories in vs calories out it also focus on
Why we became over weight. You can attend in person meetings or do it via zoom. All free and you can be referred by your GP.

Please keep us updated on this as it’s such a great ideas to have a community group and I’d love to hear the impact it has on the SW group.

I will, thank you. We do need an app we can all use they are talking MyFitnessPal or Nutracheck I think it is called. I don’t know a lot about food apps or apps in general so if any one here can provide some suggestions?

We had a catch up earlier today, the format seems very good and the personal trainer is a really nice guy, the exercise can be tailored and split depending on age groups and abilities. Most of us joining are in late fourties’ or fifties, we want to make it good and challenging for younger members too.

He said something that really stuck with us all. No food should be labelled as a sin as it can create the poor relationships with food and it is about portions, control and accepting that you can have a life and enjoy food. I know this is a topic many have discussed here too.

What was very interesting was an ex slimming world member, she went to national finals, she was encouraged to be on Instagram to promote her food and weight loss by slimming world, she openly spoke out against members who were using the slimming world brand to line their own pockets with discount codes, she whistleblew on a member admitting to using c to achieve big losses but admitted to loving the attention slimming world brings. She was the one who slimming world shunned and never contacted again. Her story was so interesting, she had a lot of battles with Slimming world. I hope she attends the new group.

I'm sure I heard that MMB had resigned her role as Director at SW. Not sure who's steering that ship now.

If you are calorie counting then 100% Nutracheck. It is super cheap and miles better than My Fitness Pal.

MFP - anyone can add anything to the database so info is unreliable, plus it is heavily US weighted.

Nutracheck is brilliant. Easy to search, great 'eating out' database, easy to add your own recipes, barcode scanner...... just be wary of the calculator setting your targets - 1200 to 1400 is the lowest default and it generally isn't enough for a long term, sustainable weightloss plan.

Use the James Smith or similar calculator and set your own target on Nutracheck.

I read that mfp is getting rid of barcode scanning too for free users

No longer a fiver is now £5.95. A bloody rip off for standing on a set of scales to be told are you disappointed only getting 1lb off this week. lol

I found out loads of stuff in lockdown.
A slimming world consultant leaked training stuff on the internet. That calorie counting makes folk large lmao 🤣
Loads of other stuff.
My £6 a week goes in a jar and mounts up its now spent on clothes or getting my nails 💅 done.

Ooh where did they leak the training stuff?

That’s such a good idea, when I get back from my holiday I’m going to weigh every week and put £6 aside instead of going to SW. I’m going to try and just eat healthily and see how I get on, don’t really want to calorie count everything so going to just eat sensibly with lots of veg and protein and see how I get on!

My Net Diary is good. It’s free and is based in the UK so you don’t get all the American products listed first and measurements aren’t in cups😂😂😂😂

Yep, this is a really good idea :) I may do the same also.
What’s everyone’s thoughts on WW? Yes, I’ve tried them all 😂 🙈
I think they’re just as bad in their way. Years ago they introduced a simple points plan that was quite easy to follow and more or less in line with calorie counting, except an easier way of doing it.
Then they tweaked it, calculating the points in such a way that it pushed people into a low carb, low large, low sugar way of eating - so, 10 bananas didn’t count, but a chocolate biscuit or a slice of toast and butter used up almost a quarter of your points! (Sound familiar? 😂)
Now they have lots of different plans that they keep rejigging because really all they want is to get as close to the SW model as possible but they have to keep the long time point counters happy also.
I used to lean more towards WW than SW in the past but I just can’t engage with them at all now.
(Sorry for rambling off topic)
